Welcome. Minnetonka is a beautiful city. We live quite close and if you ever want a play date, let me know. I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 7 month old.

If you want to travel a little farther, there's always the two zoo's, the mall of america, and the Children's Museum of Minnesota. You can get some free admission passes for some events at the libraries in town (first come first serve limited number) called Museum Adventure Passes. There are tons of public parks, beaches with playgrounds, ECFE classes, indoor and outdoor places to go, many in Minnetonka or very close suburban cities, such as Plymouth, Hopkins, St. Louis Park or Edina.

We are moving to Minnetonka from California this fall, and I have connected with the MOM's Club to start to dig into the area . I belong to the MOM's club out here as well, and it has been a great resource for kid referrals/advice, as well as a great source of information for me as well. Feel free to e-mail me, I can provide you with a contact person for the group. Where will you be living? We will be along Lake Street Extension. We have 4 kids; 5 yo girl, 3yo girl, 18 mo boy, and 1 week old baby girl!! We are anticipating a very busy summer! Good luck with your move!

Check out your local library. They have museum passes to many different places like the science museum and the MN Zoo.

There are classes here for toddlers and moms and the program is called ECFE for early childhood family education. The classes are sponsored by the local communicites and I'm sure Minnetonka has one. It is a great way to meet other moms too. I've taken these classes with both my girls. my oungest is turning 3 in September and my oldest is 8. I've loved the classes. Early on they have you with the kids and then later they do a little separation for part of the class so moms have time for coffee and to talk about parenting wthile the kids to activities with teachers. A., I would check out a MOMS Club in the Minnetonka area. I joined one a couple of years ago and it has been wonderful. I've been able to connect with other moms in the area and have activities to go to with my 2 year old daughter. The other moms have been a great source to find out about events in the area as well as find good babyitters, etc.

I know this response may be a bit late but I thought you might like to know that there are some new classes for moms at Pump It Up (169 & Valley View - about 5 or 10 minutes from Minnetonka), so moms can do something fun or work out while their toddlers jump around and get some exercise!
