My son and I just moved to Millis, MA. We are looking for activities, places to go, things to see. Any ideas are greatly appreciated! If you are familiar with the area, I would love to know what's around (about 15 minute drive or so).

A little about us: Ia am a 32 year old stay at home mom. My son is going to be one year old in a few days. We moved from Boston a few months ago and it's taking some time to get used to living in the suburbs.

Thank you in advance!

I don't know much about Millis, but we live right next door in Medfield. I have a 2 1/2 year old boy and a 7 month old boy. We tend to go to the playground A LOT since the weather is getting nice again. I'm sure there are nice playgrounds in Millis. There is also Hopkinton State Park probably about 15-20 min from you that has a huge playground. And for a little longer ride, there is Southwick's Zoo in Mendon (probably 35 min), but SO fun for a 1 year old! They have little petting zoo areas and kiddie rides. And on rainy days we spend a lot of time at the Walpole Mall. There isn't much there as far as stores go, but a great little arcade, a bunch of kiddie rides and a Barnes and Noble with great kids books and story time. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or need other info about the area :)

There are some great playgrounds in the area. The one in Millis behind the soccer fields is very nice, Choate Park in Medway, EMC park in Hopkinton Visiting Tangerini Farms to see the goats and chickens is fun.

Music, Movement and More classes in Holliston are a great thing to do with little ones.

First off you can find out where the parks and schools are. This is where you will find swings, slides, teter taughter etc. There is also a small public library that I sure you find plenty to do their. Call your City Hall and they can give you reference to many places or go on the Internet and type in Play area's in Mills,MA. You should be able to find many items of focus for yourself and your daughter. I wish you all the best and Good Luck find the whereabouts. Take care,

I am not from the area, but always looking for ways to meet new mammas and babies. I joined a group on meetup.com that I love and we are busy almost daily, some times we just have to rsvp no and take a break. I agree with Mother and a grandmother from san frranscisco too she had some great ideas our local library has been a lifesaver when it was rainy and there was nothing to do they have a great story time. sometimes your local book store will have story times too so check that out. good luck and I hope you like your new town.
