Hey ladies!

Well I've got a question about acne.
Friday I bought neutrogena pink grapefruit foaming scrub. I don't have much acne, I just wanted to help clear up what little I did have on my face. I tried it for three days and around my nose and chin, it's red, dry and tons of little pimples.

What are some good acne products that I could get at walmart or target, ect.?
Or any home remedies.

My skin is pretty normal I guess, lol.
The only part that seems to get dry is my nose.

Any help is extremely appreciated!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the help!
I think I'm going to try the St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser and see how thats goes.
If it doesn't help, I'm going to look into getting check out by a dermatologist .

Hi!

I've struggled with acne for years.. and the best over the counter product I have found is by Biore. It is called Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser. It is a dream!! Good luck!

I used to waste so much money and different types of acne wash. Then I realized that acne is actually considered a medical problem and I sought a dermatologist. I didn't have severe acne but I have always just had acne and never a "perfect" face. I found out that my 1 or 2 pimples that I had on my face were actually cyst type acne and that over the counter products were not meant to treat that. I now use a cleanser the dermatologist recommend and after 27 years, I finally have a clean face.

Sorry if this isn't much help, but I just wanted to recommend a dermatologist may be a better way to treat your minor acne vs trying to find the right product at a drug store. (and btw.. my face wash I use is only $20 and lasts for 3 to 4 months).

Good Luck!!

M.,
Taking supplements that balance your hormones can also clear up blemishes.
Let me know if you would like help with that.

Someone on here weeks ago suggested a site www.acne.org

I have used the techniques on that site and have seen a huge improvement almost totally clear skin...just red marks from previous squeezing I shouldn't have done.

The really nice thing is that they do sell products, but tell you the equivalent OTC products that have the same effect...I had so many products already, I had the ones they suggested collecting dust in my cabinet. Like I said they actually are working when used as suggested on the site...check it out.

Well I switched from Grapefruit Neutrogena one to St Ives Green Tea Scrub. Its very gentle and helps a lot. (who i have used religiously for years for other things) If you really want to zap zits, pick up the Sulfur mask, its a white and orange package. its OTC now so you dont have to go to the dermatologist. It kills all the bacteria in your pores. Only use it 3 times a week. Sulfur is great used to take it in pill form and as masks, its the only true acne clearer I found besides Epiduo (precrip)

I can recommend a product call PCA Skin. I have been using and recommending this product to my acne client. It works good for them. You won't feel the dryness or any redness. It can hydrate and give moisture to your skin. I can't say about the acne products in target and walmart since the ingredient in overcounter products don't really fit everyone skin. Usually it is either not working or make skin over sensitive. You can go to www.pcaskin.com to check on their products or you can call us at ###-###-#### for more information. Hope it will help you.

The medicine obviously irritated the skin. I like the St.Ives Green tea cleanser. It cleans the skin well and does not irritate it. I like it and I have sensitive skin also. May be also do so extra moisturizer on your nose. I like the oil of olay regenerist. It is not oily and it is a light moisturizer. Remember the heat is also going to irritate the skin. Make sure to rinse your skin off withsome room temperature water after you sweat and make sure to drink lots of water. good luck

Ask your Dr. for Retin - a micro - it helps keep the pores from clogging. Also, get a clarisonnic to clean your face with. It really works well.
