My gfriend is getting it done this Dec, she's also 5-10 and has very loose skin from her 2 pregnancies, lots of purple stretch marks, it does look a little elephanty, i know she will be very happy barring nothing goes wrong w/ it.

I can let you know then how it goes. I know after 2 kids i've got what amounts to a sometimes-moderate sized balloon belly, but i think it's cute as does my husabnd, but i know some days i look at it like a hamster storage pouch and despise it. Good luck w/ whatever you choose, i'll try to remember to email you again after I hear from my friend. SHe's also getting a boob lift! :)

I am also interested in this procedure . I want a tummy tuck and a boob lift for my 30th BDAY. Can anyone recommend a doctor to go to or Not to . Also how much is this running these days? Want to stay a hot mama - diet and excircise does not pay off for me - although I continue to do 4-5 hrs a week for health reasons.

I had a good friend who had had lipo and a tummy tuck done. I can tell you she looked really great after all the healing, but getting there took a very long time. A few of the holes that the lipo had been done from refused to close up, and then resulted in hemotoma, it literally took some 6 months after the surgery for her to be fully healed. She said later it wasn't worth it; she liked the result but would have been happier not going through the whole ordeal.

I find it suspect that diet and exercise don't work for anyone. How many calories do you consume in a day? If you can't answer that you aren't dieting. The average adult needs no more than 2000 calories a day. Combine that with the proper workout and you WILL lose weight, but it takes a lot of work. Sit-ups don't do it, you have to do cardio 4-5 times a week for a half hour at least to actually burn fat. If you aren't currently doing that, you can't dismiss exercise as though it doesn't work for you.

I had considered, not too long after I had my son, to have a mini tummy tuck. But I found with the right work out regiment and watching what I eat, I don't need to surgically alter my body to get the result I want. Consider a gym membership, there are a lot of places that give you a personal trainer who can structure a work out routine specifically for you, and its a lot cheaper than surgery.

It appears you are already getting hearsay answers how to deal with your problem. I can tell you red meat has nothing to deal with it. I wish, for your sake and others, that it were so simple. However, with a lot of knowledge in diet (I've been dealing with my husbands major health/eating/diet issues for 4 years) red meat actually increases your possibility to lose weight. That situation posted was just a coincidence. As for how to get rid of the weight, I do have someone you could talk to and possibly get the answers you need or want, you can email me if so. One thing I would highly consider is that you may be retaining a lot of gut weight due to inflamation. Most of the time inflammation is due to an allergic reaction or an inability to digest foods properly such as celiac disease or allergies to wheat/spelt inflamation. This will NOT necessarily show up in an allergy test. However if you strictly eliminate those two grains from your diet, you WILL see a difference. If you want more info on it I'd be happy to provide. As for the liposuction, I would strongly discourage it. Very risky and all the fat will return to that same place. Your body is storing the fat there because that is the method of retention of fat in your system. I hope this answered your questions but I know its not fun having extra weight. So many of us deal with this unfortunate issue. Good luck and hope it works out!

I don't know anyone, but I do know that I would be terrified of liposuction. There are risks involved, moreso than other cosmetic surgeries. Have you tried cutting out red meat? I have a friend who couldn't get rid of her belly either and someone told her to cut out red meat. Our bodies aren't made to properly digest red meat, so it takes a really long time. Because of that, there is extra food stored in your digestive system and therefore causes your stomach to stick out. She told me that once she cut it from her diet, she was able to get a flat stomach again

Hi L.,

I have 2 friends who have had it done in their stomachs, many more who have had lipo in other areas.
While they both report that it was very painful (and advised not to have children who needed carrying when you have it done) they both look FABULOUS. One is about 5'6" the other 5'8" the first with 2 kids, the second with 3. She could pull on her skin and go the distance, all her kids were about 9lbs!

You will always get opinions on the dangers and pain. Go with your instincs. I am having it done, but I am waiting a year after my last baby (he's 4 months)
My friend with the 3 kids had her 4th 6 months ago and she sad her stomach looks great still.
To me, the level of risk does not out-weigh the personal satisfaction or confidence I want to derive from it.
The first time I looked at my body after my 1st c-section I was in absolute shock.
There is no shame in helping out our bodies ;) with the help of a surgeon. It's all relative.
Amy

Try Mesotherapy, I had 2 treatments (out of the country) and I lost 8 centimeters around my waist. If you can handle needle pricks in your abdominals, do it, there is NO down time. I will be getting more treatments next time I go to visit the in-laws in South America. My soon-to-be ex-neice had a tummy tuck and lipo on her back and legs, looked fabulous! She didn't have any complications that I know of. But she had the BEST doctor in Cuenca,Ecuador and only cost $1800 including the hospital stay. Too bad that cosmetic surgery costs so much here.

I work as a nurse anesthetist giving anesthesia for those under going liposuction. I think there are so many other alternatives. Excercise and diet are huge. I think a great way to jump start weight loss is through a detoxification and cleanse. It is totally healthy and non-surgical. Yes, lipo at times is tempting but, I have seen the results and am not totally happy with what I have seen. If interested, I would love to chat more.
