You may have been advised of this already but regular ole wart remover will do the trick, you don't even have to buy the name brand, Wal-Mart's brand works just as well.

My husband used it to remove skin tags from his body and when I saw that it work I used it to remove tags from my neck and near my eye. It has on the bottle that it takes about 2 weeks, but it was a matter of days before they fell off and few more days before the skin returned to normal color.

Okay, I'm not a Dr. and I don't even play one on T.V., but, I have had some removed before and to tell you the truth, you could do it your self with no big deal, if they are small. Basically you just would use some nail clippers and just snip it right off. Yes you would have a little bleeding, but not real big deal. Just put some antibiotic ointment on after you clean it with hydrogen peroxide and put a small band aid on it. If you notice any swelling or infection seek professional help. LOL (seriously).

As my husband and I are getting older, we are developing skin tags. Initially, he went to the dermatologist and had a most bothersome one removed. Now they don't do that anymore because insurance calls that minor surgery. So I just did what the dr. did. My Fiskars scissors work the best because they are so sharp and have a Spring Action. One squeeze does it. With regular scissors, if you hesitate, it's more difficult for both persons. Use rubbing alcohol to wipe the scissors. your fingers and the tag area. Apply an ice cube to the area to numb it. You can skip the ice if you are not sensitive. Pull tag away from body enough to get scissors next to skin. Snip. Little to no bleeding.If it bleeds a bit, apply ice. Worst case pain is like a little sting. Some you won't be aware it's been snipped. If that makes you squeamish, tie a thread tightly around the base of the tag. Knot the thread. That cuts off the blood supply. In a few days--less than a week--it will have dropped off and you'll never know it. Of course, if it is a mole or skin that changes/grows/changes color. Do Not Snip. I went into lots of detail to be clear, but it takes literally seconds to do.

At least I know what they are called now. :) I used to get them in my arm pits and on my eye lid. I just pinched them off but it never occured to me that might not be a good idea. heh

I have had quite a few and used to go to the dermatologist often to have them snipped off. She said I can do it myself with a small pair of sharp scissors. My husband has cut a few off, but if they are on my eyelids or near my eyes--I wait to go to the doctor :)

You can freeze them -- that hurts...you can rightly tie dental floss around them -- it takes about a week and is ugly and uncomrtable.

My best advice is to have your doctor take them off. My insurance company will pay for 15 at a time to be removed. They remove them quickly, can deal with any bleeding and it doesn't cause scarring.

I would not try to take care of these yourself. At least not at first. Have you been told these are skin tags (which I am sure they are)? However, you certainly want to avoid picking at something until you are 100% this is what you are dealing with. You dont' want to get any kind of staph infection. I would see a derm. at least just once and get their opinion. I know an excellent PA who works directly under a dermatologist. She is awesome!!!! Do you live in S.A? Anyway, just a thought for you!!!!

I had one on the underside of my upper arm. My primary care dr suggested I tie a piece of dental floss around it. I tried it and nothing happened except the floss fell off! I switched to a different dr and he removed it. It had gotten larger and when I would catch it, it would hurt. I'm glad it's gone!

My cousin gets skin tags and she pulls a piece of her hair out and ties it around the tag as tight as she can without the hair breaking. It usually falls off over night, sometimes it takes a little longer. My mom also tried it and it worked for her. You might also use thread, but it has to be very thin.

my husband snips his off with a toe nail clippers. seems unsainatery to me! my derm. cut mine off. for the person that didnt know what they were they are also called granny beads.

They need to be removed by a dermatologist and can be done several ways. Mine were removed by freezing and my sister had hers removed with a tape and tear method. Freezing wasn't painful and they never returned which I am told they often do when you try to do it yourself. Hope this helps.

My son was born with a skin tag by his ear. We were told by the NICU nurses (he was 5 weeks early) that they usually tie a string around the bottom of the tag. Due to him being early, they did not want to do anything to him at the hospital. My husband tied dental floss around the skin tag. It became blue and then black. I was finally able twist it off. You can hardly tell where it was. My peditrician saw the string around his ear and told us to make sure we kept it clean and once it fell off to use antibacterial ointment to prevent infection.

I just cut mine off with scissors. I clean the area and scissors well before and after.

Yes, S., you tie them off with thread. It needs to be cotton thread or something non slip, and it must be very tight. Has to stay on for about 4 days depending on the person. They do get VERY sore usually before falling off !

The only other choice is cut them. I don't recommend that unless it is under doctor supervision because of pain and infection and bleeding.

You need to see a dermatologist. In fact I have an appointment today for the very same thing. The dermatologist will laser/burn them off. I've had it done before and it is no big deal. Once they remove them they will check and make sure they are benign, so if you have anyone in your family who has or had cancer it probably is a good thing to get it done, and get it checked out.
