I highly recommend Dr. William Barrows group in downtown Chicago. His entire group is great but I KNEW that Dr. Barrows was special when my son had an episode where he passed out (he must have been around 8 months old). He was teething and my husband and I gave him some homeopathic stuff that was recommended. I called Dr. Barrows, but my husband I rushed my son out of the house and took him to the hospital. When we got home, according to our caller id, Dr. Barrows called at least 20 times.

Our son was okay and thank God all testing went well. He has never had an episode like that since and that was over 2 1/2 years ago. My ob/gyne recommended him to us because that is where he takes his little ones. Dr. Barrows is affiliated with Northwestern Hospital.

He's fantastic!

Hi M,

My babysitter, who lives in Richton Park, takes her 7 month old granddaughter to Dr. Dorsey in Flossmoor. I am trying to get my daughter into his office as well. I just have to call his office first thing Monday am to see if he takes our insurance and to schedule an appointment with him. I haven't seen him, but my babysitter (who is more like a second mom to me) just loves him. Being a 61 year young grandmother of 7, I would like to think that she's seen them all. Good luck!

I love my pediatrician!! Her name is Dr. Sivam, and she is located on 45th in Highland (right on the border of Highland and Munster). Even before I moved to Munster from Illinois, I drove 45 minutes to see her. She is THE BEST!! She was recommended by my OBGYN, and he was right.

If you want her number, let me know.

Hi, I had the same problem as you. I live in Oak Lawn and had the hardest time finding a good Peditracian. When I found the BEST peditracian!!! He use to be out of Little Co of Mary however he did move to the northwest burbs. I travel. His Schaumburg office is only like 45 min away. All High way!!Right up 290. He is only in schaumburg on fridays. The rest of the week he is in algonquin. We just schedule all of our well baby visits on friday and when my kids get sick we see who ever is available. I have yet to meet a doctor that I didn't like!!! I love the fact the the doctors are almost always on time I have never waited longer than 15 min from the time I walk in the door to the time I see the doctor. Which is nice having three kids. Now here are some reasons why I like him so much... First he is great with the kids!!!! My daughters LOVE him (my baby is on;y 3 months so he doesn't have a say!) When my oldest told him she wanted to be a ped when she grew up he always plays doc with her teaching her different terms in the medical field even asking her questions regarding her brothers and sister. Which makes her feel very important! Also there was a time when my oldest had a rash on her face where he prescribed medication for on a friday. Well on manday my phone was ringing and it was the doctor, not a nurse, asking how Destiny was doing!!! Also when my middle daughter came down with RSV he made sure I had a emergency contact straight to him if she were to get worse. His visits last a while I have been office with him as little as 20 min for something simple to an hour for more serious visits. A well baby last about 30 min or longer and he makes sure all of your questions have been answered! He has never had a problem with taking a look at my other child during a visit. They also have a lab right there so there is no traveling around for lab work. Last winter my middle child had gotten really sick and they ran every thest on her to try to point out EXACTLT what he had!!! They have two seperate waiting rooms for well and sick children. I LOVE the pratice and it is sooooo worth the drive!! If you want more info please feel free to contact me! If not good luck with your search!

I think our Pediatrician is the greatest! His name is Dr. Dumais, he just started his practice but has been around for awhile working in the NICUs and stuff, so he is very experienced. He spends a good amount of time with each patient for well visits and other visits also. I would recommend him to anyone. He is located in Orland Park and works with Christ Hospital, I am not sure if that is too far for you to travel, let me know if you want his number!

Here are the phone numbers to my peditrician, I love her. She does what she does not the children not for the money per say. Her name is Doctor Veregese and here are her numbers ###-###-#### and ###-###-####. I have only been to the location that is by Rush Hospital so I am not sure how far it is from you but I am a first time mom and my son had a temp of 102.5 I called the office at 2pm and she said come on it. We didn't end up seeing her til 8pm at night but she didn't rush us, she addressed all our concerns and she acted as if we her first patient of the day. Not knowing the whole time her husband was waiting for her down in his car. She truely has concern for children. You should at least look into it. Hope this helps a bit.
