I live in New Tampa and looking for a hair stylist, in my area, who’s relatively cheap. I have a bit longer than shoulder length layered hair, so would like to go to someone who will do a good job with that kind of cut. I’ve been in Tampa for 8 years and haven’t found anyone I like. Well, I did find someone, but now a simple shampoo, cut and blow dry is 50 bucks!

Wow, thanks for all the responses! I called A Unique Hair Place and for a wash, cut and blow dry is $35 (no blow dry is $25) so that's not bad. It turns out the day I posted this, a New Tampa 'magazine' was delivered and there was a $15 coupon for New Identities (their prices are comparable with the Unique place), so I'm trying that. Unless this stylist wows me, I'll be trying out these other places in about 6 months. Thanks for the referrals!
In the New tampa area there is a relatively new salon. The owner's name is Corinne and the salon is called The Hair Complex. It is located on the new 56 extension right beside one of the entrances to Seven Oaks. Not only do they cater to momma's in our own special spa-like area, but they also do children in teens in special themed rooms for each. LOL - I think you asked for "relatively cheap" Now $75 for cut,color and style IS a good price for all those services... if you can afford even that !! It's so hard to find a good place who doesn't butcher your hair. So stay away from the Choice Haircutters in Tampa by MOSI!! I had pretty good experience with "Great Clips", I'm not sure if they have a location in New Tampa, but they're located on Bruce B Downs close to Folwer - by the Staples. My husband, son and I have had our hair cut there and they do good work and the hair cut is only like $12 or so..

My hairstylist Maggie is awesome! I've sent so many of my friends there and they have all been really happy with her as well. The salon is A Unique Hair Place it's in the plaza where the Lifestyles Fitness is on the corner of Bruce B. My family is on such a budget, I can only go to the cheaper chain salons. It sounds like you have the same hairstyle that I do, and I've had good luck at the Supercuts on Bruce B Downs across the street from the movies. I ask for the long-layered cut with some angling in the front. Even with a shampoo, it will be under $20.

I have followed Stacy Long for 7 years now. Although I have "strayed" once or twice I learned that she is the only stylist that I have found that actually listens to what I want! She is incredible and is starting to carry a line of Organic hair products soon. She just moved from New Tampa out to Wesley Chapel to Salon Nohea.
