9 Yr Old Daughter Wants to Work! Any Ideas??

First, realize what a blessing this independent thinking represents!! Rather than thinking of 'ways to make money' it will contribute to the future of your child to help discover what it is she LOVES to do, what INTERESTS her. This way she may learn early in life (before most people even think about income) what she values most. Bringing income in from this source of happiness (which also would be linked to her special abilities or gifts, will bring joy to her life (and yours).

Hi! I can relate - my 10 year old wanted to earn extra money before the holidays. What I did was give him extra chores that I would pay him for. I hear you though, sometimes we don't have it to give! Are there any relatives or close friends who would be willing to do this for her? We found out my son was great at washing windows, but washing the car on his own was a little too much. He also helped his grandparents clean out their garage, and helped his Nana prepare food for holiday get-togethers. Are there any younger friends/family she could 'tutor'? I have a good one, but it would require your assistance. You could host a yard sale. Let her sell some of her old stuff and you could give her a "cut" of family sales for helping out with the whole event. You can add a little more to the day by having her sell bottles of water or if she is crafty or artistic she could sell some of her original work. I always sold my paintings, beaded jewelry, tie dyed t-shirts etc. at my parents garage sales. Encourage her entrepreneurial spirit as much as possible. Ler her get involved with pricing good, counting change, setting up display's and selling to your customers. This could be great experience for her.

Maybe you have an elderly neighbor or know someone that could use a little help around the house and/or needs some company a couple days a week for a minimal fee? It would also be a good experience for her to spend time with the elderly, I learned a great appreciation for people when I used to volunteer at a nursing home when I was younger. It could help her out with her wish for more money and also help out someone who needs it!
