Hey mamas,

I saw on the news that there are credible terrorists threats for tomorrow. Are any of you ladies scared or worried? I don't think I'm gonna leave the house tomorrow just in case. I'll probably have the news on all day. What are y'alls plans for tomorrow? Am I being silly?

Thanks Ladies!

No. If I worried about everything that "could" happen I would miss out on what does happen. Life's too short. :)

No! For heaven's sake, that's why they broadcast this stuff so prominently - there's a hope that most people will be home with "the news on all day."

"Keep calm and carry on" - that's my motto.

I have a friend who works at a huge airport. You would be amazed at how many guns/explosives and activity they thwart on a daily basis. Anything could happen. An actual terrorist attack from abroad.. a copycat attack from a disgruntled American, or absolutely nothing. All you can do is be as safe as you can be without being paralyzed by fear.

Terrorism is not about killing people but about terrorizing them --making them live in fear. Stopping them from living their lives because they are afraid. If you stop living your life because you are in fear ***YOU ARE LETTING THE TERRORISTS WIN***

Not me not in my life.

The terrorists attacked us to scare us and to ruin our freedoms. No way am I letting them win! They will not take my freedom--and that includes doing the things I love to do. I am not going to live in fear.

And if they do happen to attack I think of it this way. I'd rather die in freedom, doing what I love then to live chained to fear.

I am not scared...I am aware but not scared. I can tell you what does worry me...I am playing the piano at church tomorrow and we have selected ALL patriotic music ...beginning with God Bless America....I am worried that I am not going to make it through everything without crying...and crying makes it REALLY difficult to read the music!!! I am the wife of a retired military man and our son is currently on his 5th tour in Iraq...so I understand what the sacrifices are that are being made to keep our country safe.
We can't live in fear..if we do that...the terrorists have already won!! That is what they want to sow the seeds of fear in our nation and keep us from living life to its' fullest.
God Bless America!!!

My HEROS are the men and women we don't see. In the intelligence and security services that are constantly wading though all of this stuff and making sure that the vast majority of us never have to worry/ don't even know all the crackpots and extremists that are constantly causing trouble.

We're really lucky that we live in a country where those people (crackpots and extremists) are the exception rather than the rule. But be they ecoterrorists, religious terrorists, people seeking/brokering/creating/attempting to use bioweapons/ explosives/ arms/ etc... the men and women of this country and others who keep us safe by monitoring chatter, cataloging, infiltrating, destabilizing, bankrupting, and out and out thwarting these individuals and groups are in the scariest most thankless job I can imagine. And they rock.

They can't stop everything, they do stop most. And most we never even hear about it, or we hear about it after the threat has been neutralized. How freaking amazing is that?

So my plans whenever I think of them, or the first responders to a crisis when something DOES slip through (the ATC folk on 9/11, the police/fire/EMT/med professionals/NGOs/military/ Intel/ and every samaritan on the street who helps out) is to be amazingly happy and grateful for the blissfully free life I get to live because of them, and knowing that should anything happen... we're not alone.

So, no. I'm not afraid. I'm grateful.

Nope..... Does it do any good to live in fear? I'm not saying to be careless, but does it do any good to sit back and worry about what "might" happen?

Threats come from all over... here in Texas, the biggest threat right now is from wildfire. We've been safe, and of course, we take precautions against that possible threat, but I'm not going to live my life thinking "what if....".

All it does is eat you up from the inside out... and then the terrorists have won!

We do have our flag flying now and it will be flying tomorrow as well.

We'll be watching the Cowboys/Jets game probably from a sports bar because we are not Jerry Jones fans and we prefer not to help line his pockets with more cash.

We've been to Jerry's world ONCE and all its wonder, BLAH..... for the inaugural game to see the stadium. We prefer to watch the game from a sports bar with a lot of fans vs fighting heavy traffic to and from the game.

I'm not scared and I'm not changing my plans for tomorrow. I was living a mile from an air refueling base when 9/11 happened, we currently live outside of DC, and my hubby is in the military.

I don't know if I'll even be alive tomorrow ... probably will ... but who knows. I could get electrocuted by my laptop, fall on the stairs and break my neck, my house could burn down while I'm sleeping ... tomorrow isn't a promise. I live today with the probability that tomorrow will happen but without the promise of it. So I live today and don't worry too much about tomorrow.

My plans for tomorrow include picking up bookcases I bought from the Border's that is closing, putting them in my bedroom and filling them with my 1,100 books. I'll also be studying for college classes I'm taking, and going out to dinner with my family. I may even try to see if there's any carpet, queen size beds and dressers for my oldest child on craigslist. And getting the basement re-organized to move him into a different section of it.

However, I am confident in all of those who protect and sacrifice for us and am honored to be one of the people protected. I am a little nervous for crossing a bridge to go to church, but I'm going to do it.

No. I can't control it. I am not going to let fear rule my life...I live 22 miles west of the Pentagon - I saw the smoke plumes that day...so yeah - I think you are being silly...if you can't control or change it - don't stress over it...and we all know that we cannot control someone else....only ourselves!

While I mourn the losses we sustained on September 11th, 2001 - I am sick of seeing it replayed on the TVs....sorry - but really?

i have no plans for tomorrow....other than taking care of my girl friends two boys and get them to school on Monday....however, like someone else said- I could get electrocuted by my computer or something else...not gonna stress over it!!

It hadn't occurred to me to worry about it honestly. I haven't been watching the news either. I know what happened, and I remember it well. I am beyond sorry for those who lost and continue to lose their lives due to those events, but beyond that I'm not doing anything different or changing my plans. I'm not sure where all I'll go tomorrow, but I'll go wherever I want without worrying!

I'm not scared. I'll be working, and I have my DVR set to record some of the coverage since I will be missing it. For some reason, I took 9/11 extremely hard.
Maybe it was because I could relate so much to the saying "tomorrow isnt guaranteed"- I felt so sad for the people who never got to see their children born, never got to marry the love of their life, and so many other things.

I will not be afraid because you can't control everything. You can only control things as they happen. Live each day to the fullest, or try to anyway.

Give your kids an extra hug tomorrow, enjoy the sun as it hits your face. Laugh and be kind. Tomorrow's anniversary is a great example of why we should try to be selfless and kind every day- and remember whats important in our lives. Its not the money or the material things. It's love and family and friends.

Sorry if that was extra sappy. I never usually post things like this, but as I said- 9/11 gets this reaction out of me that I can't control- and I really try to remind myself to live like this everyday. Sometimes I live it, and sometimes I dont- but I sure as heck try.

We're going early in the morning to show our new dog the beach and will enjoy it on purpose. We'll go to church, then come home for our pasta salad lunch and naptime. We'll play scrabble while the boys sleep and do our normal chores (laundry, etc). We will take the boys and new dog for a walk, play some, Jeremy will bbq chicken while I make the potato salad, baked beans, and blackberry wine cake. I'll take my oldest to his first Awanas meeting since the summer break, and when the boys are in bed, we'll watch a little of the memorial show, and then turn it to Breaking Bad which is our weekly guilty pleasure. We will think about and pray, but we are going to enjoy that day on purpose.
But one more thought...at 7am on Sept 11, 2001 it was just a normal day. Nothing special about it at all. It was a surprise and out of left field. I seriously doubt anything would happen on the one day everyone is remembering and expecting something more than any other day of the year. That's my 2 cents...have a good rest of the weekend.

I'm not really scared, but I'm sort of thinking about sticking close to home too. I live just outside of Washington DC, and there is no way I'm getting on the metro or going to visit monuments tomorrow. Just in case. Think I'll hang out and watch the Redskins game, from my couch. I wouldn't be stressed about it, but I'd practice common sense. FYI - my brother is an FBI agent. He recommended that we stay away from large public areas and avoid huge crowds (like Fedex Field, where the Skins play)

Nope not scared. I refuse to live in fear of all the what ifs that could happen to me and my family. Fear can cripple you from living a full and happy life. I know there is evil out there...and scumbags that want to take our blessed country down. We should do all we can to support our troops, hold up our Constitution and not take our freedoms and liberties for granted...but value them and preserve them.

I will spend the day with family and at church worshiping our Lord and Savior. I will look to Him for strength and go forward in faith. He is my greatest source of peace, love and forgiveness.

You are not being silly at all. September 11 was full of sadness,tragedy,carnage,hate,evil,pain...and the list can go on and on. But, on the flip side so much goodness came out of that day. I will focus on that. I will remember how our country came together at that time. I will remember the outporing of support from nations around the world. I will remember the amazing and self sacrificing firemen,EMTs, policemen and average Joe Schmoes that went into the buildings to save lives as WTC workers were leaving the buildings.

Tomorrow I will say a silent prayer for peace to fill the hearts and minds of all those still grieving the loss of loved ones. I will look my kids and husband in the eyes and tell them I love them and give them hugs.

Turn off the news...leave the house and make it a beautiful day. Those that passed away on that fateful day would want you to make it a great day...not a day of withdrawing and sobbing in front of the boob tube. Think of them...live a fabulously fear free day...for them.

Good luck and best wishes at having a great day tomorow!

No I am not scared, but I also don't have any plans to go anywhere other than the usual places for a Sunday. I agree with Cheryl O. you can't let fear control your life. God does not give us a spirit of fear. I also do not understand why tv networks feel they must show documentaries and movies of those tragic events every year. Who is this for anyway? I am certain that none of the victims' families are watching. It gives me nightmares to watch again. It must be for the rubbernecker types watching a bad accident and the networks are greedy enough to milk that. Shame on them. None of us that experienced that day will ever forget.
Anyway, don't be scared. To be honest, everyone is on such high alert it will probably be the safest, most guarded day of the week!

If you're scared, then they win.

I refuse to give a very, very, very, VERY small percentage of wingnuts in the world *that* type of power over my life or rent space in my head, and neither should you!

Regardless of where you live, we ALL have strong memories of that day. I was hundreds of miles from home--and STUCK.

If anything, we just need to hug tight on our families just a little longer tomorrow.

Calling my son in NJ for one thing, before 9/11/01 he loved to go to the mall at the World Trade Center, which was located below the plaza and was the largest shopping mall in lower Manhattan. That day I couldn't reach him, and feared he'd gone shopping as he wasn't scheduled to work that day. When I finally heard from him he was sorry for scaring me, but he'd been unable to get service on his cellphone. He'd been spending his time sitting outside, looking across the river to NY at what had happened which he could see, and crying. He had friends there.

I'll also continue praying for the survivors of 9/11, it still hurts me and I personally didn't lose anyone, I cannot imagine how they feel.

But I'm not scared or worried, God does not give me the spirit of fear. And if I live in fear evil wins, and that is SO not happening! :)

God bless!

I am definitely leaving my home--we'll be going to church, and then later to a 9-11 memorial/prayer service in our village. I WON'T be going into the city of Chicago tomorrow, but I don't think I need to be afraid in my little village of 23k people.

**Just out of curiosity, how many of you who take the "I refuse to live in fear" viewpoint happen to live in high risk areas? I was living in the city of Chicago on 9/11, and my campus (which is right off the Mag Mile downtown) was evacuated. I lived in a highrise condo along Lake Michigan, and it was indeed terrifying. That was even before I had met my husband and had kids, so I AM more cautious now than I was then. Sorry, but I just prefer, on this day, with "specific and credible threats" in the works, to play it safe.**

Then, I'm going to call another friend whose birthday is tomorrow.

Then, I'm going to a baby shower to celebrate a new little life coming into the world.
I will definitely think of all the families and lives that were touched by what happened 10 years ago. I will pray for their continued healing.

I will have a lovely day tomorrow and be sure that if there have been threats made, our armed forces will be on high alert.

Just my opinion.

Not afraid, but mainly because I don't think they're going to target Austin, MN, unless they have it in for Spam. :) I do live about 45 minutes away from the Mayo Clinic and I've always wondered if that'd be a target someday...but I pray not.

I'm going to church tomorrow and go about my day as usual. I know it's been ten years, but I can't let myself get caught up in it or I'll be depressed, and that's not how I can best serve my family and children.
