We are planning a "medieval times" party for my daughter turnign 6. It'll be indoors at our house and I am trying to think of games that the kids would like at that age and possibly a craft for them to do. Any suggestions would be great.
thanks!

Well A. I am cheap! I recommend that you got to the dollar tree and find you ideas there with the crowns and tiaras. Then if it is an all girl party the girls can also make their wands from papertowel cardboards w/ maybe feathers at the end of the wands. maybe have them make their own goblers by buying the (plastic) glasses from the party store w/paint or something. The games could consist of those horse heads on a stick, if boys are at the party then the shield and sword game, joust w/ apples or something.

They could decorate crowns to wear`either simply with stickers or markers or fancy with glitter glue &/or big sequins etc. Measure your childs head so you know the approximate size & cut out the shape of a crown (like it has been cut at one point) from poster board or contruction paper.

Of course they could play pin the tail on the knights horse.

Have fun!

I love a good birthday party. I have always done "home" parties. I would start with letting them design there own treat / goodie bag. Hobby Lobby has great plain bags with handles in a size I like which is about 5"x5". supply things like fake jewels, glitter, markers etc and glue sticks. then also do the decorate yourself crowns. The ones we found the girls like the best were made of a really heavy cardstock type paper you make the old fashioned dunce cap type and then hang a swatch of netting type material to hang down there backs. wands / ceptors are also easy. I woud get some short dowl rod's also available at hobby lobby. get some of that glitter wire stuff and wrap around them and let it also hang off the end. very fancy looking when they are done. Food stuff is easy. it must all be able to be eaten by hand. goblets from any party store are available and can be hand decorated as well. maybe have them do those first so they are dried by the time they eat. glitter pens and stickers would be best for this so they don't drip glue lol. You could get music from the library and do some sort of musical chairs. Have a wonderful time

I was definitely thinking crowns and swords or shields. I think I saw some decoratable ones in the oriental trading catalog.. you could get everything right from them!

Hi A.,

I just bought my son a sword & shield from the disney store that was made out of foam. You could maybe do a joust game, no faces! I also saw at Kmart they had the same kind of foam swords.
