4Mth Shots

Bring a bottle with about 2 oz of water with about a teaspoon of regular table sugar dissolved in it. As soon as the shots are done, pop it in his mouth. My kids both calmed down instantly. That much water or sugar is going to do him no harm at all. It's just like getting a lollypop at the end for older kids.

Once again Doctors are telling you the wrong thing. Tylenol depletes the glutathione in the body and you need that to detox!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are worried about vaccines, and you should be, then you can look on www.generationrescue.org or www.safeminds.org and read about them.
Dr. Sears has a book about vaccines which can help you with a SAFER schedule. There are several vaccines you can omit from the ridiculous schedule they have our children on. Take it from me, A MOM WITH A CHILD WHO WAS VACCINE INJURED! I wish I had listened to my gut. Because it doesn't take a scientist to realize that they are giving our children too many toxins at once. You don't HAVE to give Tylonel. I rarely give my kids any meds for shots unless they are just miserable afterwards. I distract during the shots by holding their hands, getting right into their face and singing to them while the shots are administered. If he takes a pacifier, use that too. Then, afterward, we just go about our normal day. Maybe put a cool compress on it, and make sure to move the leg around and kind of massage the area (not directly on it, but around the muscle where it might be sore) and just give lots of love that day. Know that you are going to spend that day totally holding, cuddling, etc. your baby and don't worry about giving any other meds.

Why don't you like giving him paracetamol? It's just a one off dose, and it's recommended to bring down fevers etc.
In my experience, it's the needle going in that is the worst part, I gave my daughter some paracetamol when she got grizzly, and then she slept it off.
Does your son get really upset and like he has the 'flu when he got his 2 month shots?
If it's really that bad, then I would just give them what the doctors say to.

What do you mean deal? Like red painful swelling injection? I like to disolve teething tablets and make a kind of paste and put that on red swelling areas. I don't know if that would be smart on an injection since there is a hole in the skin. . . but that's what I do for swelling things.

first of all little fevers is the exact same thing as tylenol.
next how swollen is the area if continues to swell you may want to call and make sure they don't want to see him I have heard a few times of babies getting cellulitis at the injection site of a vaccine. They say you really shouldn't give a fever reducer following vaccines because it reduces how well they work a fever is the bodies way of fighting a virus and a sign that the immune system is doing its job. What method are using to take the temp and how high is it? Please remember that a rectal temp (the method you should be using for a baby) is normal until it is over 100.4

This doesn't really help with pain (not sure anyway) but since I breastfeed exclusively 5 days before and after a shot I take Briar Rose drops in water ( 25 drops 2x daily) and 1 Sago C tablet twice a day. This builds baby's immune system and prepares their bodies for a shot. When they get a shot their immunity drops. If you are not breastfeeding then you can give 3 drops Briar Rose daily in baby's bottle. Also for the swelling and if there is a knot as well run a bath with epsom salts, about a cup and let your baby soak for 10 minutes. This will definitely reduce the swelling and this can be done twice a day if the swelling is bad along with massaging the area.

Tylenol, is recommended by Pediatricians... but THEY have to tell you how much, for an infant.

What is going on with him? You said you want to help him 'deal with his shots..." so did he have it already? Or is going to have it????

Call the pharmacy to find out how much tylenol to give him. I would also seriously think twice about the Ped who doesn't know tylenol is safe for babies.

You need to give him a bath and lightly massage the area where the shot was given. It is always best to bathe your child the night after a shot to help work the swelling out. You seem to be saying the leg is abnormally swollen. If this is the case, you need to contact your dr in the morning to ensure there isn't an infection at the site of the injection.

It's hard when they are so little! My heart and prayers go out to you!
