Hi, can anyone tell me if they have had 3 c-sections? Is it considered "safe"?? I have had 2 already and have an appt. with my OBGYN to discuss but just wanted to get some other opinions first. I am also concerned about my age. I am 37 but am not even pregnanc yet so I would be age 38 when I delivered (baby #3) Thanks!

What can I do next?

I've only had two - but one was at age 39 and the other 45 (almost 46), so I don't personally think that matters. Though I probably will never have "abs" again, the C-sections did no other harm.

I have a good friend who is younger who has had 4.

I just had my third c-section. It was no different than the others. During the surgery my doc said the wound looked good and I could have a fourth if I wanted. No thanks! But good to know. I'm 34.

Good luck!

My SIL had 4.
I am sure that the type of incision you have each time plays a crucial role in what medical science suggests might be safe/healthy. We can only tell you "our" stories... your doctor(s) know you, and your medical history.

Oh, and my SIL's last one, she was 40.

You should be good unless they told you after your last one. I have had 3 with no issues. My first was emergency and its horizontal. I opted for another with my second because I couldn't do a VBAC and I am kinda glad I did another c-section. My third was also an emergency, not due to the c-section but I had placenta previa. You should be fine and you aren't too old to have another! Good luck!

I had my 3rd c-section in 2011 and will have my 4th this September. My OB's haven't even batted an eye about it. A friend of mine is an OB and she told me that her partner recently had her 5th c-section. If your doctors are concerned about it, they will definitely let you know. Every patient is different, and there are certainly SOME patients that my friend has told that they should not attempt another pregnancy because of their previous c-sections. It all depends on how well your uterus has healed and how much scar tissue is present.

I had three and my last one was at age 37. My doctor had no concerns. I'm sure you'll be fine, good luck with everything!

It's not usually a concern, unless there are other contributing factors. How the scar healed, if you have issues with your uterus, etc. If you had a straight forward delivery and healing, I don't see why it would be unsafe for you, but you should ask a Dr. to be sure.

What kind of incision did you have? I had a horizontal one below my bikini line. It's barely there now. My sister had the vertical one that goes from her belly button down. Apparently, there are bigger risks with that kind of incision, but I'm not sure what they are. Other then her stomach muscles being shot, the Dr. made no mention of not having another baby that way.
