30 Something Looking for Skin Care Products to Fight Wrinkles & Dry/oily Skin

Hi Moms,

I'm starting to notice a little more lines around my eyes and I'm looking for a good over the counter eye cream, wash and moisturizer. I'm currently using Mary Kay, but I'm feeling very greasy after using the day solution and moisturizer, except on my forhead which is VERY dry, therefore, i'm starting to break out around my chin & cheeks (which are my oily spots). For some reason, Mary Kay's combination skin type products don't work for my combination skin.

It's the same as 3 labs that sells in saks 5th avenue at a fraction of the cost.
I have also attached a link for a great skin care analysis. It's pretty cool.

I am an avid Clinique lover and have been since I was about 11 yrs old. My 16 yr old daughter uses it faithfully as well. We both have great skin.... partly thanks to good genes but also good skin care routines, good SPF and lots of water.

Clinique stands by their products.. you don't like them you return them. in many cases you get samples to try first before you buy.

They have products for each stage. I use the repairwear series which is anti-aging. Currently I use the night and day Youth Surge and the Laser focus. Daughter uses the Dramatically different moisturizer GEL. The GEL is great because it is lighter and does not aggrevate the oily part of your skin.

The pricing sounds steep but it you look at it in reality, you are not paying THAT much. Each container of night and day is about $35-$40 and if used properly, will last 6 months. Laser focus is about $50 and same thing... you only use a drop and it last a long time.

We use the make up products as well.

I am 49 and easily pass for mid 30's.

Of course, everyone will tell you what their favorites are... take the info, try them out and find what works best for you.

Good luck..

I have sensitive skin and use Neutrogena wrinkle cream with spf 15. I'm 55 and didn't start using it til fairly recently, and it's made the crows feet around my eyes softer and less pronounced. You're smart for starting to use good products early on, before your wrinkles become deep (like mine!).

I love MK! Have you discussed this with your consultant? My skin went through a wild phase a year or so ago. I had to adjust everything! I also used Clinique. Liked their products as well but love MK.

I tend to lean towards products that are natural and contain no mineral oils or preservatives that may cause cancer. I also keep things simple on my skin.

Taking care of your skiin will begin with your diet and drinking plenty of water.

I use various things for my skin like witch hazel (an astrigent), aloe vera gel, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and sometime even shea butter.

Try www.healthybeautyproject.com to learn of companies that specialize in natural skin care and beauty products that may work well for your skin. Some of these companies also have products you could pick up at places like Whole Foods.

Personally, I like St. Ives stuff and Aveeno. I'm sure there's a formula for your skin. I tend to the dry side.

Some women swear by cold cream.
Ponds is ok, but I don't care for the scent all the time.
There are some unscented cold creams out there.

I second Cellular Labs! I just turned 40 in August and have used it for the last year. I absolutely love it! I think it really works to turn back the hands of time :) I recommend it to everyone.
