What time does your 3 year old go to bed when he/she is not napping? How much sleep do they get at night?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

When mine doesn't nap (starting to give it up) he goes down about 8:30 and is up by 6. Neither one of my kids get the "full" recommended sleep. My ped said as long as they are happy and developing fine, they will sleep when they need to. On average he gets about 10 hrs a day.

my son stopped napping right before his third bday. He usually goes to bed around 8pm and wakes around 7:30-8 ish, so anywhere from 11.5 to 12 hrs per night.

Wakes around 7 am and refuses to sleep until around 10 pm, if I'm lucky, I can get him down by 8:30 or 9 but he is almost still in his room playing. He very, very rarely naps.

My 2 1/2 year old does not nap. She goes to bed between 8:30-9 and usually sleeps until 9:00 am, sometimes a little later. She has been waking up around 6:30 am this week, though which has been rough for me. ;)

Our usual bed time is about 8, but if my daughter doesn't nap it's 7:30. Sometimes it can even be earlier if we've had a particularly physcial day, but even 7:30 is hard for us since my husband doesn't usually get home from work until 6:30 or later. She sleeps about 11-12 hours each night.

My 3 1/2 year old goes to a daycare center, where all of the preschoolers nap, and he still does fall asleep and take a nap there. Unfortunately, his nap from daycare means he wont go to bed until 10-10:30pm, sometimes later! On the weekends, I don't put him down for a nap, and he generally is very happy to go to bed at 8:30-9pm and wake up around 7-7:30am. I've told the daycare he doesn't nap on the weekends, but I have not pushed it on them, because they have a classroom full of kids of different ages, and I know my son would be disruptive if he did not nap there.

My 3 yr old goes to bed around 7:30-8pm and wakes up around that time in the morning. Sometimes she'll wake up at 7am, but usually she gets a full 12 hours.

When my daughter was 3, she'd go to bed around 8:30pm and wake up around 7:30am. This was the average. Usually she had 10-11 hours of sleep, which works for her.

Of course everyone is different, so I'd look at your child's individual needs and daily "rhythm," and go from there.

My son just turned 3 - it's been a few months now that he rarely takes his nap. I always try! He's in bed at 8 and wakes around 6:45/7.

My son rarely naps anymore. He goes to sleep around 8-8:30pm and wakes between 6-7am. We try to do at least rest time during the day, even if it is laying down to read a book or watch tv.

I always caution parents to check with their school districts as to whether or not naps/quiet time is a part of the KG program. If it is, then it's usually for just the 1st semester......& it really helps if your child is on the same page. If your child doesn't nap, please make sure "quiet time" is observed so that the transitiion to KG is smoother!

Now for your question: naptime usually comes 1 hour earlier, unless we hit the Wild Zone.....when we've missed our window of opportunity & the child is over-tired & can't calm down.

my three year old NEEDS a nap but hasn't had one in months. he just refuses, even though he is so very tired. therefore, I usually put him to bed around 6:30p (although I have been known to do it as early as 6:00) and he usually wakes around 7:30 am. This time of being able to not nap but needing one is very difficult! It's like that time period between 1 and 2 naps where some days they have one and some days they have two....
