Ok mom's I am hoping you have some thoughts. So my 3 month old is around 15lbs. He's a chunk. He has never been easy to burp. If we keep him sitting up for a while it eventually comes out, sometimes with a little spit up. But impossible to burp right after eating. He also gets hiccups a lot and is gassy. He's such a happy baby but to me he often seems uncomfortable. Fusses when we put him in his carseat, I think because it pushes his legs up and makes him uncomfortable. When he's laying he pulls his legs up a lot like he's trying to get gas out. We use Mylicon and gripe water every now and then, especially for the hiccups. We use Dr. Browns bottles with the air flow system which helped a little. He was on Similac sensitive. I recently spoke to the Drs office to see if I should switch to soy and they suggested that maybe I try the Alimentum. We started that Tuesday night. I am not sure I have seen much of a difference but am going to give it a week or 2. Any other thoughts out there? I just want to make him more comfortable because he's such a happy and content baby. I finally just got him to sleep through the night by keeping him up all evening and I think also because he gets all his gas out sitting up before he goes to sleep now. I think the gas was waking him up.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So we do think it is helping a little. He at least doesn't seem so hungy when it comes time to eat. He used to gnaw on his hands about 15 min or so before it was time for him to eat. Maybe it's the taste so he's not really looking forward to it so much?

I was told by our nurses at the Dr's office that for some reason babies tend to have less gas on Enfamil than they do on Similac. Perhaps you should try a different brand. Enfamil makes a sensitive formula.

Have you heard of the "I love you" massage??
If not LOOK it up! ITs the coolest thing. Its basically a tummy massage for your lil one that helps with digestion & gas.
I have a 4 m/o that had gas problems like you're talking about. I give her that massage every night before bedtime and it works!

For bottle feeding, try putting a drop or two of Mylicon in each bottle and shake it up before feeding. This gets all the excess air out of the bottle, and helps get a big burp, too. Hope this helps!

Sounds exactly like my 3 month old daughter except that my daughter is VERY grumpy! She has her cute happy moments, but omg night is probably the worst! She has been on alimentum since 1 week old (not digesting proteins well) and also uses dr brown bottles. The only way I get her to sleep well is to swaddle her up and put her in the swing with it ON all night...and she sleeps 11 hours on average... I know its not the ideal way, but it works, so it will have to work for now! haha..
So I don't have a lot of advice....Just wanted to let ya know I'm going through something very similar, i feel for ya :) Good Luck
