2Nd Birthday Party

I'm currently trying to find a place for my soon to be 2 year old's birthday. I have narrowed it down to three places: Toys R Us in Frisco, Clubhouse for Kids in Plano, and Planet Pizza in Plano.

I haven't been to a party at any of these places and was wondering if they had good parties. I'm leaning towards Toys R Us because they pretty much supply EVERYTHING, but I have no idea if they are fun.

Also, with Planet Pizza, last time I was there it was pretty run down, but I hear they have new ownership and was wondering if it has improved.

Thanks,

So What Happened?

I ended up having a small "squatter's" party for my son at The Zone in McKinney. It worked out great and the people there were great!! It was only my play group, so we did it during the week. The kids bounced, played the games and then we all went and had pizza and cake. The staff at The Zone were very nice, and were very understanding of our bring cake. Many places in the area will not let you do this, even during the week, but they were very accomidating.

I've been to a party at Toys R Us. Its pretty good but the room is kind of small. Also food is just pizza and cake.

If you're interested, I make customized cakes.

T.,
I know you said you had it narrowed down to 3 places, and I do not know of any other places that you checked out. Planet Pizza would not be my choice for a 2 year-old, unless they've changed what they offer. I wouldn't recommend for any child under 4. My memory was of a place that was not very clean. It has been 3 years since we went. I am not familiar with the other two places. We had our 2 year-old daughter's birthday at My Gym. It was awesome. They treated her like a queen. I think they have two locations. One in Plano at Parker/Independence and another one Frisco. They have a web site www.my-gym.com.

I hope it all works out for you.

We have had parties at both.
At Toys r us there are different themes that are great and the kids love it. Once was okay but still fun for the kids and the other was Great, depending on your host and their enthusiasm as with anywhere.
They help with passin out the gifts, bagging them and writing down who they were from. You can choose various things to include in your package. The play area is a plus to before the party starts and we even stayed about 30min after. I would recommmend this since we havent had a bad experience and all you do is relax, they pass food, cake, do the games/crafts or whatever is in the package plus the gifts and clean up. You can even take what leftover pizza there is if you ask for it. Since you did pay for it.
Now Planet pizza, it is good as well and my kids loved it, the pizza is not that great in my opinion but its okay. The rides are fun for them and they have a great time. If your child is scared of rides you can ride with for free. But if you think he may not like the rides it would not be for you. The rides are kind of loud and may not be good for kiddos too young.

Also, chuck e cheese is great, both of my kids love going there as well,
and there is a place in Frisco that is great too.I cannot recall the name right off but they are by the mall close to Ross etc. They have games and rides as well. they have a merry go round, bumper cars, and the boat but a little smaller one and movie a room. We love this place and so do the kids, they have a small train outside that goes around the parking lot before you go in that the kids love, and the food is better that any others esp if your like us with more adults than anything since them being still so young, they have alot of pastas a great salad bar and they have icees for the kids which food for us was a plus since 80percent was adults.
Well I hope this helps. Even had a bday at burger king on the west side of plano and it was cheap , and the kids loved it as well. There is a little table in there just for their size and you can choose the meal choice. We took a few games for them like pin tail on donkey etc. It wasnt over 60dollars . Good luck. Have a blessed day and enjoy wherever you decide, I hope he has a wonderful bday.

I just had my son's party at Planet Pizza a few weekends ago. We had a blast. The only problem is that it's really crowded on the weekends - and I had mine on a Sunday afternoon - 3-5 p.m.
The guests have to keep their presents behind a counter (they sign in there to get the ride/softplay stamps for children to ride for free) in tub that has the birthday boy name on it. We had to keep the cake and decorations behind there too, until the 2nd hour of the party - when our table would be ready. but there's a party hostess, who sets up the table for you by the time that 2nd hour rolls around. All the plates, table cloths, cake, balloons were all set up for me (I brought all those - although they can provide these for you - included in price - but I wanted all that to match the Superman theme i had). And the party hostess cut the cake for us and cleaned up.

My son was turning 3 and he has friends that are around that age and older so they were so excited to ride some kiddie rides -- and parents can ride with them if the child is scared. It was lots of fun, but very crowded, but we still had a great time, and I know my son did - and that's all that matters. Didn't know that Planet Pizza was so popular.

I had my daughter's 3rd birthday at Toys-R-Us. I would say the kids had fun but the most fun they had was playing on the climbing equipment after the party. I was not that impressed. The party hosts were a couple of teenagers who lost control of the group pretty quickly. Of course, all that mattered was my daughter had a good time.

I have been to parties at Planet Pizza and Kids Clubhouse. Planet Pizza was fun but crowded. Kids Clubhouse was a scary place for me. There were just a bunch of kids running around from room to room. Adults were all over the place too but the staff did nothing to ensure that the adults that were there belonged with kids. Of course, I am a little paranoid about that typw of stuff.

Good luck!
