Hi moms. I am 26 weeks preggo and so far so good. But the last couple of days I have been feeling a bit light headed and dizzy at times...maybe a bit in a fog. Can this be normal and just another wonderful side effect of pregnancy? Just curious if anyone else has had this happen. This is my 2nd child I don't remember feeling it with my 1st but that was 5 years ago!! I have my gluclose test tomorrow morning, which I am super nervous about not passing . I am dreading it so bad!! Thanks for any help you can give! Oh I have my monthly visit on Monday so I'll be asking the doc about too. Just wondered if any of moms have had the same issue? :)
Im seeing some of you mentioning Iron. Can I ask the blood place to test my iron too while im there, for my Gluglose you think?

What can I do next?

Yes. Iron levels were my problem when I felt that way. I'm anemic and if they got to low I would pass out everything was blurry. Just felt werird all together. Have them check.those. or heat if you get over heated you'll feel that way

Ask them to test your iron level but also your calcium, potassium and magnesium levels, which are not routinely checked. I had what you describe at some point in all of my pregnancies and just chalked it up to normal symptoms. In my 4th pregnancy, though, I was in the ER for something else and they checked those minerals as routine blood work and they were all quite low. After my levels were brought back to normal, the dizziness and light headedness, as well as leg cramps and other discomfort, disappeared for the rest of my pregnancy and I felt so much more normal. I was probably low in other pregnancies as well but didn't know it.

Make sure they see if your iron is still at good levels. I got like this when my iron dipped below normal.

They tested my iron levels anyway...I don't know if that's just normal for my midwife...or everybody? I got a voicemail saying I needed to call them back regarding my labwork and I was terrified that I'd failed the glucose test...I HATE having to retake it!! But they were calling because my iron was low...I didn't even know they were checking that! That would explain the light-headedness and dizziness...Do you naturally have low blood pressure? My blood pressure'll sometimes go down to 85/50-ish. It hasn't been as low this pregnancy...but when it does get like that...I tend to also get lightheaded and dizzy. Good luck!

I would make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water... As far as Iron, you can ask to get that tested, but in the meantime just up your red meat intake a bit.

Sounds like it could be dehydration or could be hypotension. A lot of pregnant women actually experience very low blood pressure during pregnancy, me being one of them. Mine runs about 90/60, which can definitely cause dizziness.

I would increase water and rest more, as you know your body is changing rapidly now and you need to slow down because every pregnancy is different. I would try to increase foods that contain iron before starting iron pills because once you start down that road then you can open yourself up to more pressing things like constipation! AGH! Also living in Fl. I would imagine its hot and humid so that may be the cause of the problem water, water, water! When I was pregnant that was so tough to do the further you get along!

Yes, it's common. Later in pregnancy your blood volume increases again, which can cause some dizziness. Make sure you're resting enough to keep up with the changes, and staying hydrated (since it's getting hot out there!).

My doctor called it mom-timers and it sticks around for about 6 weeks after the baby is born. I think at this stage it comes from the increased blood supply in your body. I had it the whole time with both of mine. It will pass....
