22 Month Old Daughter Undressing Self During Naps/sleep Time

As said before I realize that she is a little young to potty train but my sister is going through the samething with my 18 month old nephew now so she has decided that maybe he is ready. So try that maybe get some pull ups and start potty training. Who knows you might get lucky and have an early potty trained kid. (Yay no more diapers) Anyways hope this helps.

If you are using one-piece, zip-up PJs, try using a diaper pin through the hole in the zipper to keep it pulled up. Baby should not be able to open diaper pin! :)

I have heard other moms suggest turning diaper backwards, but I worry about leaks! Good luck! I hope someone can offer you better advice! My little one is only 16 mo. and we have not begun this adventure yet! :)

Well...unfortunately, I don't have any answers for you. But, I can tell you that you are not alone. My 28 month old son is doing the EXACT same thing, EVERY time. It's getting to be a hassle to clean sheets every time I get him up. :-)

On the bright side, I have 2 older kids and they did the same thing at that age. Fortunately, they are now 4 and 6 and no longer streaking!! :-)

My middle child was the same way when she was little. I found these great pjs that you button the shirt to the pants. I don't know if they make them any more. She is now three. I also tried putting the pjs( if they zip up) on backwards and you have to turn them inside out too. I also bought the pj with the zippers and it has a snap to cover the zipper it helped a little until she figured that out.

Hi! My twins did the same thing except I got to walk in on the "bigger" mess. We did the duct tape along with putting the diaper on backwards. A great tip is to find the scissors that the paramedics use. They don't have any sharp edges so no worries about hurting your little one. Good luck!!

Hi A....if you're child is 22 months old, maybe she's trying to tell you something--She's Tired Of That Pamper! My daughter did the same thing and it drove me crazy!! I told a co-worker and she said, "Stop making her wear the diaper if she doesn't want to." This lady has 4 sons so I totally trusted her advice. She told me to put 2 sets of sheets on the crib and place a couple of thick towels on top for my daughter to sleep on, make sure my daughter pottied before bed, and then put on a pair of underwear to sleep in. Dora panties worked best for her because she didn't want to "pee" on Dora. Now, this isn't a fairytale, so she did wet the bed a couple of times. Since I work, I don't have a lot of time in the mornings for clean up. I simply took the thick towels and the first set of sheets off of the bed and threw them in the washer while the 2nd set remained dry and stayed on the bed.

I did the onesie thing too but that was when my daughter was younger by 22 months, most girls that I know are either trained or starting to train. She's probably just growing up and not wanting the diaper anymore. My daughter's old sitter used to say, "You've just got to trust her." I think you just need to trust that she's ready and go with it.

My son would do the same thing about that age. He was way too big for any kind of one piece pjs, so I was mainly concerned with the diaper. I got a roll of packaging tape and placed a long piece around the tabs with both ends meeting at the back of the diaper. He never figured out how to get his diaper off after that! Good luck!

I have seen several sleepers that zip in the back. They showed some children wearing them on the learning channel that were doing the same thing. Not sure where you can purchase them but I do know that they are out there. Good luck!!

My daughter does the same thing. We also use the thin masking tape to tape her diaper closed. My daughter would take off her diaper b/c she was bored - she would lie in bed and pick at the tabs until it came off. I'm not sure if she would still do it, b/c we tape her every time. When we go to remove the diaper, we just rip the tape between the 2 tabs - that way we don't have to mess with undoing it in the back. I've also had to sew a flap under the zipper of her zip up pj's to prevent her from unzipping.

My daughter was the same way when she was younger. She had never completely undressed herself, but would take her pants off and undo her diaper a few times. Luckily I never had a mess in her crib. Here's some things we tried - we would put her pajama pants on and then put a onesie over her pants. Although there were times she was still able to get her pants off. If you have any of those one piece pajamas that zip up we would use those and put a safety pin at the top of the zipper otherwise she would just unzip it.
And here's some recommendations I got that worked for us to at least keep her diaper on so you won't have a big mess. We would put a second diaper on backwards so the tabs are in the back - so we put the second diaper over her first diaper. We also tried putting masking tape over the tabs and around to the back of the diaper. Although I didn't like this as much b/c we had to mess with trying to get the tape off when changing the diaper. So I liked putting on the diaper backwards the best.

My daughter did the same thing and I started dressing her in zip up pajamas (light ones for the summer). After she figured out how to unzip them I would safetey pin the zipper under the button flap and I never had another mess - AND she couldn't get the safety pin off!

My daughter did the exact same thing at about that age, and there were numerous times where I would walk in with poop on the floor and smeared on the floor. She's potty trained now, but at that time she had no interest in it at all. She was just trying to tell me GET ME OUT OF MY ROOM. When she was done with her nap, that was that. If I left her in there any longer, that's when she would start doing all of that. So, maybe that will help? Good luck.
