2 Products Suggestions (Auto Mirror and Baby Monitors)

I have a minivan and I had an AWESOME mirror that worked for me when my child was an infant. You can get the mirror at Walmart in the baby section next to all the sunshades. It is called Safefit....and it has a brownish border. They run about 13 dollars but it is all worth it because the mirror is big, my baby LOVED to look at herself....and all you have to do is turn your head to look in the mirror. It is kind of hard to see through your rear view mirror. But if your baby is sitting kiddy corner to you, it works great! Hope that helps!

I have the lights and sounds monitors by Fisher Price and they are great. If you are able to spend the extra ten bucks or so and get the dual monitors, beleive me it makes it easier. I keep a monitor in my bathroom (for those 5 minutes you get to take a shower)and then one in the frontroom. I also purchased one of the big baby mirrors. I think it was by Safety First It sits in the back window with velcro. You just look in your rearview mirror and can see the baby perfectly. Please don't waste your money on those tiny mirrors that clips onto yours or suctions to your windsheild. They are the worst. Also the suction sun shades are a nightmare and never stay put. We like the Angelcare sound and movement monitor. As a new Mom, it was relieving to hear the interval ticks that checked for breathing movement. When my son was about 3 months old, I switched it to the silent mode, so we would only hear an alarm when there was no movement. This mode worked great! We would hear the alarm sound, if we forgot to turn off the monitor after picking him up out of the crib. When we removed the crib rail to make a day bed, the movement alarm was very helpful in training him to stay in bed. When he was 32 months old, he successfully slept without the monitor in a separate bedroom of our hotel suite.

Like all other monitors there is also the sound component.

we loved our Easy View car mirror. You can get it online and at The Right Start. It hooks onto the side the baby is NOT on, so it doesn't have the risk of falling on them. not sure if it'll work w/ your car though

For a monitor suggestion, we love our Sony Baby Call! It is fantastic. Long Range, water resistant etc. :)

The Angelcare monitor mentioned earlier is wonderful. I think we had more peace of mind when our son was in his crib than the bassinet (since we couldn't use the movement sensor in his bassinet.) The alarm has gone off on a few occasions and made us feel very thankful to have it.

Not sure about the car mirror, but I thought I'd mention that when we brought our car to the the police department car seat checks, they said they don't recommend baby mirrors because of a possible safety hazard in an accident (with that said, we still kept our baby mirror.)
