2 Month Old Won't Nap in Crib

Hello! I am home on maternity leave/summer break with my 2 month old and 2.5 year old boys. For the past 2 weeks my 2 month old has slept all night. He'll eat around 7:30 PM, sleep from 8 PM-4 AM, eat, then sleep a few more hours. This is fantastic! However, he will not nap for more than 20 minutes in his crib. He will, however, nap for HOURS in his carseat or swing. This has happened accidently:; I don't start naps there on purpose. Ideas on how to get him to nap in his crib? Will it just happen on his own? At night time, I nurse him in his dark bedroom rocking chair, which is hard to do with a 2 year old home, too. Help!

What can I do next?

My daughter spent the first year napping in her swing until the motor wouldn't move her anymore. She slept in the crib at night though which I was amazed by. She then let me nap her in the crib maybe after a week of trying. Anyway she is almost three and sleeps in her twin bed without issue.

My son is 7.5 months and still naps in his bouncer! Yes, He looks ridiculous in it but still loves it and prefers to nap knowing people are around him. Every baby is different, he was a terrible sleeper as a newborn so I'm just happy that he's able to put himself to sleep now without crying like he used to.

It could be that he perfers to sleep at an incline. Do you have an incline sleep pad in the crib? What about trying a Mose basket that you have in the crib? Cribs can seems so big, a Moses basket makes it seem more close.

My son only napped in his swing or car seat for the first 7 months of his life. I would worry about it, but then my cousin said to me

"if he has a place to nap at home and when you are out dont worry about it, he wont be in the swing forever" he's sleeping at night so thats the biggest battle!

I am so glad i listened to her b/c those swing naps were amazing. SO my advice to you i, let him sleep however he wants, with a toddler at home I know you are super busy so peace is golden!! Worry about it when he is too big for the swing, thats what i did and it worked out fine!

S., I have had similar problems with my daughter when she was young. Your little one has security issues and with a large area in the crib to move he might be feeling lost. I ended up buying a Snuggle Me Cushion for her and now actually sell them for the company. Check out the website and let me know if you have any questions.
