I've never heard of it. Prevention is the best way. Put sunblock on before going outside. Try to be in shade (or wear a hat) from 10am-2pm when sun is strongest.

I've never heard of milk. A cool bath in vinegar will do the same job.

Milk is great for helping with eyes irritated by chlorinated water, cooling your mouth after spicy foods, and I've heard about using it for sunburn along with aloe.

No, I have never heard of using milk. I have used vinegar and water in a spray bottle for sunburns and it works great too, except you smell stinky until you shower. ;-)

I actually have heard of milk to treat sunburns but I thought it was whole milk because it's the lactic acids and fat that soothe the skin so you want a higher fat percentage. Supposedly you soak a cloth in the milk and let it sit on your burn for 20 mins, then rinse off to avoid smelling like sour milk. I had forgotten about this and I had a sunburn 2 weeks ago. I'll have to remember to try it next time. :)

I have never heard of this!! How did you apply it, with a cotton ball, or how did you do it?

I'm a redhead who burns through most sunblocks, so I'm regularly sunburned. First I've heard of this. Will have to get it a try. Appreciate the tip!

No, but aloe vera works great. Get a plant and have it in the house. Break a leave and put on burns. Amazing!

I never tried that! We use witch hazel if we get red and I think it really cuts down on the pain & peeling and isn't as sticky as aloe. Love the Bullfrog Surfer Gel (we live in TX), it really stays on well at the pool/waterparks.

When I was 13 I had a horrible sunburn--blisters and everything. I am a fanatic about my kids with sunscreen now. Anyway, I used cloths soaked in milk and it did relieve the burning an pain. Course, I suffered for 2 days before trying it.
