Ok, Moms (& Dads)... can't believe my "baby" is turning 18 in three weeks. I asked him and he's ok with a party with family and friends. Thanks to everyone's suggestions, I was able to find him a really nice watch and not break the bank (see previous post). I was planning on having a poster with some baby pictures. What else could I do? It's not like when he was little and I could set up silly games and then send everyone off with a goody bag! lol!! Any ideas?? Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the great ideas. Yes, I can totally see him with a bunch of his friends acting like little kids. It would be a hoot to go to Chuck E Cheese. As for the alcohol/bar idea - think I'll save that for another birthday - maybe when he turns 30!!! lol!! Thanks everyone!!

Honestly, when my brother turned 18 he DID have a little kid party and they had a blast. They played silly games like pin the tale on the donkey, had food eating contests (donuts hanging from a clothes line). They all had a blast. They really liked acting like little kids and just letting loose for a night.

The drinking age in this country is 21, Sherri, so that's the birthday we all do at the bar....

My friend did her son's 17th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. It was just a couple of his friends and family and then he went out to the movies afterwards.

So yes, the kids like acting like little kids sometimes too. I know you're doing it at the house so it's not exactly the same. I would still do the pinata. Horse shoes and the ladder game are always good for parties. Maybe you can also do some fun parlor games similiar to what they do at showers.

Perhaps you could set up a trivia game about facts and events in his life. I do this sometimes when my daughters and their cousins get together (they only see each other once or twice a year). We set it up like Jeopardy! and I write all of the "answers" and assign them to categories and dollar amounts. Their favorite category is always "family facts."

If he's going to have friends there, I would probably skip the baby pictures.

Cornhole - bean bag game
Pinata filled with good stuff
