Goats milk! My 2 yo since birth has had a milk allergy to cows milk, but she's been able to drink goats milk no problem. You can get it at most groceries (walmart, kroger etc) but there are a lot of farms in the area that sell it fresh (which is even better/healthier). Goats milk is easier to digest so children who have problems digesting the proteins in cows milk often do better with goats.

Almond milk is fine as long as your baby eats enough fats from other sources....oils, avacado, etc. I myself cannot tolerate either milk or soy proteins or I too would be totally backed up! If/when you eliminate cow's milk from the diet, also make sure to elimate other sources such as cheese, ice cream, etc. Read labels as soy & milk proteins are added to a lot of processed foods and breads/pastries, etc.

I actually started giving my son goat's milk at 12 months & then switched over to almond milk at about 20 months. He loves it!

I'd ask your Dr about the hemroids though....

I would cut out milk for sure and add a probiotic and fish oil to her diet......check with health food store for dosage. This will soften the stools. As for almond milk and a 12 month old? I don't know due to the nut thing......goat milk or rice milk would be great alternatives.

My kiddo is on almond milk, and she really likes it and seems to tolerate it well. She is allergic to milk and to soy, so the almond milk is a blessing. Make sure you get one of the major brands that is enriched with calcium and vitamin d. As for the hemorrhoids, you need to talk with the pediatrician about that. That is NOT normal, even if they're constipated.

I may wrong but I don't think is normal for a 12 month old to have hemorrhoids.
I don't think they actually have the strength on their little muscles to cause that at that age. You shouldn't (must not) try any out of the counter treatment, it may something else. Talk to your doc.
About the milk, I also think you should consult with your doctor first, your baby may be allergic to milk (mine was) and everything new that you give your baby, do it slowly (like in milk diluted with water) to check for allergic reactions.
Sorry for your little one, maybe some prunes, apples would help him to pooh better.

I have a friend who just gives her daughter yogurt and cheese etc. Her daughter just would not take milk, never would drink it. Talk it over with the dr, but maybe just getting calcium from food would be enough. Have you tried the lactose free milk? Walmart makes in their Great Value brand so it is not so expensive. As far as the hemorrhoids, lots of water. Hydration will help, and of course talk that over with the dr as well. Good luck!!

Almond milk, unsweetened and rice milk are excellent choices. My grandbabies love it. Also the more she begins to eat raw foods and more fiber, the hemroids will go away. She is young, but raw apple in tiny bites, raw or lighly steamed brocoli, etc. as she has teeth and can chew some, very little banana as it is constipating and cheese is also. Offer plenty of water in a sippy cup if she is using one. You will probably get other sugestions.Yogurt is good and frozen gogurt sticks are fun to eat. There is a lot of misgivings about the amount of calcium we need so don't worry. Also avacado is great.

Both my boys drink and love almond milk. Both started on it at about four months. My husband insisted on it, so I started giving it to them as a replacement for a feeding. Then I started mixing it in with the formula. Give it a try. However, if your baby is at or under weight, be sure and make sure she gets the fat from other sources like the other poster said. Both my boys were in the 80 to 90 percentile for weight so I didn't worry about them becomming malnourished.

Constipation can be cured with magnesium citrate. There is a product called babycalm or kidcalm (look online).

Too much milk will naturally cause constipation because of the high ratio of calcium to magnesium ( 8 times more CA than MG). CA and MG should be in equal amounts in the body. Just how much milk are you giving her?
You would be surprised to learn that many foods have calcium- even some candy. But not too many have decent magnesium levels.

Cut back the amount of milk she drinks and subsitute it with real food and water.only give half the amount you are giving now. Then add the baby calm daily. You should see an improvement within a day, two at most.

Sometimes hemmeroids are caused by fungal overgrowth. Pasturized milk feeds fungal growth. Raw un-pasturized milk has a natural enzyme in it that kills fungus/yeast. My husband put tea tree oil on his hemmeroid and it went away.

There are other ways to get calcium into your child. If the milk is constipating her that bad then you NEED to eliminate it from her diet. It is making her sick and will only continue to get worse with more exposure. If you daughter was allergic to peanuts would you continue to feed them to her just for the protein?

I do not agree with putting a young child on goat's milk. Goat's milk lacks the protein and calcium levels needed by children. However, if you do choose to go that route, please be sure you find one that has been pasteurized. Often, goat's milk is sold unpasteurized and this is very dangerous as it can be a breeding ground for bacteria.
