Ok I am in need of some great ideas for my 10th anniversary. I want to do something great for my husband but he is not easy to "shop" for. He usually doesn't like the whole gift thing and anytime he actually wants soemthing he just gets it himself so I am lost on what to do. He has been so supportive and has always taken such good care of our family. I just want him to know how much I appreciate it. Any ideas would be helpful.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Those were all really good ideas...the Vegas one would have been an option but since that's where we got married in the first place I wasn't going to head that way:) Anyway I did a some research on the computer (about 4.5 hrs worth) and decided on a moderately priced bed and breakfast next to a creek in Sedona Arizona with wonderful views and a private balocony w/hot tub ;) I also booked a Hot air balloon ride over the top of Red Rock at SUNRISE!!! That should be something he would never expect and enjoy!! Anyway tHank you all for your ideas.

My husband took me to The Woodhouse Spa in downtown Denver for a couples massage. He's as manly as guys come, but can't wait to go back. In fact, he asked for a foot massage for Christmas. It was a great romantic time. He wants to make it an annual thing. Hope you find the perfect gift!

N. C,

I am good with surprises for my hubby. We been together for 7 years on and off and there is a website that I have enjoyed their work. You say he is a very supportive husband and father so have something custom made. The site is

They have nice things that you can have made and I remember one was a #1 sign I got my hubby for Father's Day. It was a phrase engraved in crystal. There are anniversary idea/gifts for all occasions.

For our deceased son (we make our own poems and have them engraved in crystal also and placed them on his gravesight. If that isn't good enuff...Is he a sports fan? go to

First find out who his favorite team is and get a replica jersey with his name custom made on the back and get you one with yours on the back.I just gave you a couple new ideas because I really dont know what you have been giving him on those types of occasions but you can get you and him a set together like with your nickname on the back and his on the back and it would be a set for the occassion. Good Luck!!! and let me know it works out!

Ps. I did that with the Denver Broncos and had my husband's Nickname and age for the # for his birthday this past year...He loves that damn jersey I can't keep him out of it! He said that was one of the best gifts ever....

My husband hates material/gift things too. So, I have created a couple personal things for my him that he really liked. I made him a phote album of special pictures I gathered over the years. On each page of the album was one picture and a line to a poem that was read at our wedding. I tried to make each picture sort of coincide with the line in the poem.
On another year I made a video with meaningful songs to us as background music and clips/pictures of special events to us.

With music in mind.. you could get him an iPod and fill it full of meaningful songs.
Good luck. Let us know what you decide. My tenth is this year too :)

I always like the personalized gifts, shadow boxes with your "first date things" (movie stubs, something unique to your date) stuff like that, digital frames are neat too.
Also things like Spa getaways are ALWAYS perfect for relaxation for you both. Happy Anniversary :D

My husband and I always take a night out, go to a fairly decent restaurant and then rent a room with a hot tub. You can relax and get rid of some tension. If you want to watch movies be sure to take you own player, but there are fairly inexpensive hotels out there with hot tubs and fireplaces in the room. VERY romantic.

Is there some sort of "experience" you could give him? Like is he into racing? You could look into Bonderaunt (sp?) or Richard Petty driving school. Or does he like to go see shows? A great surprise would be to buy tickets to Vegas and to a show like Cirque de Solei or something. Just get a sitter, go overnight, and pack for him. When you leave tell him you are going somwhere else and you can surprise him with the Las Vegas trip, then have a limo pick or luxury car pick you up at the airport and then surprise him later that night with the tickets. That is, of course if you have the money to do this ;)

Mine usally falls under, peaceful time, let him sleep late. and when he does get up ask him what he wants to do for that day. and even if it is something you dont like. do it anyway cuz it is importamt to him. make it all about him and what he wants. this will go alot futher than a gift.
