Hey Mamas,

I've been looking through all the questions and I know there are millions on vacations! My hubby and I are celebrating 10 years in October and want to take a vacay with NO kids:) It will be the first one since having our girls and we're looking to relax, enjoy each other's company, and beautiful scenery. We went to Cancun for our honeymoon and loved it, but don't want to do Mexico. We're looking at the Caribbean - no cruises. Just want to get there and be bums - although we love snorkeling, so clear waters are a must! We're trying to go all-inclusive, but have a budget of $1000-1500. Your thoughts/experiences?? I've been all over the internet trying to figure out where we want to go. Please share!!!!

So What Happened?

Ladies - thanks for all of the excellent feedback! We've checked into all options available to us and want to plan a trip to Dominican Republic. However, after looking into cost and wanting to make sure our trip is everything we want - all-inclusive and adults only - we are going to wait a couple of years and go for my hubby's 40th bday! That way we can save money and be able to do it the way we want. We are going to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in Vegas - we've been several times before kids and never went to any shows, so we're going to do things different this time and say in a NICE resort - any suggestions? We usually stay at the Luxor, but we're looking at Mandalay Bay, MGM, or one of the new resorts (Aria?) THANKS A MILLION!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 10TH!!!!!

Go to cheapcaribbean.com. The have the cheapest deals. I shop the deals and I haven't been able to find an all inclusive with no kids for $1500 per couple for one week. If that's $1500 per person, that's a different story. Then there are lots of choices.

Good luck to you and yours.

I am with Mommy of 1, I say Belize. We went two times on a 'just us" vacation. Last time, I swear it was better than our honeymoon! Not all that inexpensive, but I am thoroughly in love with a place called "Mata Chica" on the island of Ambrgris Caye, in Belize. Simply dreamy, romantic, luxurious hut, about a stone's throw from the ocean. Check it out online. It's a little sinful how sefl indulgent you can be in a place like that.

My husband and I went to Jamaica (Negril, I think) for our honeymoon and stayed in an all inclusive resort. It was BEAUTIFUL and relatively inexpensive.

My husband did all the planning, but I think it could have been in the $1500 ballpark.

Costa Rica and Belize are great if you know what you are ACTUALLY looking for...both are sport oriented but you have to search for the relaxation areas. I would recommend the Domican Republic, Punta Cana is fab. and sooooo very relaxing!
Good luck and Congrats!!

Maybe rent a house right on the beach in the Florida Keys? Same water and you save $$ on airfare.

Costa Rica or Belize. Great snorkling in Belize. Hondoras is supposed to be great, too. And not too expensive.
