I wouldn't use the bulb syringe. A runny nose just keeps on running. the syringe is at best a temporary measure. I would think the fight to use it is worse than the runny nose.

You can squirt saline spray in her nose, which will help stop the sniffles and loosen things up so that you can either dry it with a tissue or suction it out.

My son gets a runny nose and diarrhea every time he cuts a tooth. The diarrhea seems to be from the runny nose upsetting his tummy. Are you sure he is actually teething? (chewing on stuff, red or white gums, tooth buds poking through?) If so, and the runny nose is clear, I wouldn't worry. You can always call your doctor's nurse line to be sure though. My ped told me if it is clear and I was sure he was actually teething, not to worry. Low fever is also possible, but keep an eye on it. I think they say not to worry til its 103, but I would probably call if it gets above 100. My son doesn't run fevers much though, so I pay more attention to them when he does.

Just be careful not to use the bulb syringe too much... or it can abrade the inner nose, make it raw. That is what my Pediatrician said.
Especially in young babies.

have you taken her to the Doctor? Just to rule out any illness, versus "guessing" it is teething.
My kids did not get runny noses when they were teething.

take care,
Susan
