10 Month Old Has Tooth Growing in Wrong...

My daughter was born with two bottom teeth and then by the time she was 6 months old she got seven more. She is going to be 11 months old and she got four more. This time though one is growing in right between the top right tooth and her roof of her mouth. What should I do? Should I take her to the dentist? Or just let it be?

What can I do next?

Born with teeth? I had no idea that was even possible. Wow. Well, I would talk to your pediatrician or a pediatric dentist about the tooth growing in that funny spot....I would guess it might make a huge difference in how her other teeth come in. The baby teeth hold a space for the grown up teeth, and if the baby teeth aren't in the right spot, it might effect the big teeth.

Hi there. It would be an excellent time to have your child's first dental visit. We encourage the first dental visit within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth.

I wouldn't worry about the teeth at all but it would be a good idea to have them examined and receive pointers on how to keep them clean and what to expect as your child continues to get more teeth.

The earlier we can see kiddos for exams, the easier it is for them and us. Happy visits create children that are not fearful of the dentist and ones that come back cooperative!

Hope that helps and good luck. G. (graduating dental school in 5 weeks!)

W.,

My niece had the same thing happen. You need to take her to the dentist. She should start seeing the dentist at 12 months, so it wouldn't hurt for her to get in a couple months early, since her teeth have come in so early anyways. My daughter's first appointment was only $25, which was much less than I expected.

Kind Regards,
TRUDI

If it were won of my kids I would call the dentist to see what they suggest. They may not want to do anything until she is older but at least you will have a professional opinion.

Actually your pediatrician can help assist you there. You can have it checked out. It will move forward. My daughter had a bottom tooth that was growing in way in the back when she lost one of them, then it moved forward within a week. Our dentist said when they sleep their tongue actually helps it. Get it checked if you are worried.
