There is certainly no one size fits all beauty regimen no matter what are you are or whether you’re a Texan or not. There are, however, a few things every woman can do to help improve her skin! Here are a couple of beauty secrets that all woman of every age can do to help her skin.

  • Drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Unfortunately coffee and tea don’t count.
  • Never go to bed without removing your makeup. I can’t believe how many of my friends don’t wash their faces before bedtime. Don’t be surprised if you wake up with pimples after not washing the dirt and oil from your face. Let’s not even discuss a dirty pillowcase.
  • Eye cream is essential! Especially wearing one with an SPF.
  • Speaking of sunscreens, slather it on during the day, even cloudy days. Don’t forget tops of hands, neck and chest. I wear foundation with an SPF which is a very easy way to remember sun protection.
  • Get a good night’s sleep. They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing!

Great advice...Except the tip about sunscreen! First, the sun is our most effective way to take in essential vitamin D. Wearing sunscreen all the time will prevent the 10-15 minutes of sun exposure we all need to get our vitamin D. Low vitamin D levels have been linked to premature aging and many diseases, including cancer.

Next, we do need to wear sunscreen to prevent over exposure to the sun, but please make sure it doesn't contain harmful ingredients found in most sunscreens...

Thank you for these tips! I think beauty for most of us gets better with time.

Happy Holidays!

I do agree eye cream is essential. A clean face NOT stripped of it's natural moisture barrier (look for a product that is PH CORRECT, not balanced). Items that DO NOT contain dyes & synthtic fragrances and most of all NO MINERAL OIL.

The biggest misconception I find in my business is both women & men think if they have oily skin that they need to exfoliate/scrub it. This actually increasing the production of oil...

Why is this beauty for woman 30-40? I'm a 42 year old Mama and it still seems valid for my skin care.

Absolutely! Skincare is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Not only do you look better, you feel better.
There are numerous products containing SPF to help protect from sun damage.

Up here in New England I don't wear sunblock because I need as much vitamin D as I can get...The winters are very long!

You're right, The majority of people are chronically dehydrated. This exacerbates inflammation which leads to chronic diseases. You should eat raw aloe vera as much as you can stand everyday. You should eat raw live foods everyday too, of course. And you should take advantage of emerging technologies that enhance wellness through the repair of cells at the DNA level. Since the Human Genome has been deciphered in 2003, our understanding of why we age has transformed...

This applies to women in their 50's & 60's as well... Most of us don't realize how important a good night's rest is! There's an "old wives tale" - the older we get, the less sleep we need...NOT TRUE!! If anything, we need more!
On the average, our bodies need at least 7-8 hrs of sleep ea night. This enables us to resist disease, maintain strength & endurance, increase vitality, improve our mood, AND slow down aging process...

Every woman should cleanse(twice daily), moisturize(even combo/oily skin needs a hydrator to keep skin from over-producing oil to compensate for lack of hydration from the inside..unless you drink the recommended 8 glasses a day, most don't)and don't forget that eye creme..first place that ages in under they eyes where there are no oil glands.
Also, don't forget the great benefits of green tea...

All these are great points but the most important thing is what are we really putting on our skin. The skin is our largest organ and whatever we put on our skin goes to our bloodstream in a matter of minutes. Consider safe products -- specifically not just organic bur paraben free. When it comes to skincare organic is just not good enough, more essential is paraben free. As an example there are personal products that offer the quality we deserve. Weleda is one of them...
