10 Reasons Why They Can't Keep the Candy

1. The candied-up, sugar high makes them act like fools.

2. Which makes me crazy.

3. They leave candy wrappers all over my house, stuck in the couch cushions and magically just beside (but not actually in) the trash can.

4. Which makes me crazy.

5. This sudden and unusual influx of sugar in the house makes them think that they are some how entitled to get candy after every meal. What?! Why not?! I ate my breakfast!

6. Which makes me a little crazy, especially pre-coffee.

7. They argue and squabble and fight over who may or may not have taken a beloved Reece’s cup from their bag of loot. (It was most certainly not me!)

8. Which makes me… yep, crazy and causes me to want to calmly threaten to throw the whole bag away and never let them go trick or treating again! There. Childhood officially ruined!

9. They leave that #$%^ing bag of candy just sitting out on the counter, unprotected and unguarded. So really, it is their own fault…

10. Which in the end makes me crazy, trying not to eat yet another of their beloved Reese’s cups.

How much candy do you let your kids keep? What’s your favorite to snag from the loot?

Sharon is a tired working Momma, a newly tattooed, and almost 42-year old, who enjoys writing about life with X and Y while playing fast and loose with punctuation, MommyVerbs is about the action of engaging each day… one verb at a time. And every now and then, I find a few minutes to post and tweet and pin and gram. Come on over and be as surprised as I am when I do these things!
