- We have had decent luck with tennis shoes from Target -- not usually the $10-12 ones but the $15 - 20 ones. They usually last until my kids outgrow them.
- have you tried Shoe Carnival? I do not know if there's one in your area, but they are reasonable, and now they have buy one get one 1/2 price, so you could get 2 pair.
