Baby Coming Out of Swaddle

My son is 16 weeks old. I have been swaddling him in the miracle blanket at night for bedtime since he was about 6 weeks old. I know that the miracle blanket says you should discontinue use at 14 weeks, but he is so comfortable in it and can put himself to sleep at night once he is in his blanket. Recently he has been getting his arms out of the blanket in the middle of the night and then he starts crying. Any advise? Should I stop using the miracle blanket? Should I stop swaddling? Should I find a bigger one and wrap him tighter? ...

Seeking for Vibrating Baby Monitor

Hello to all the Moms out there. I am now in my 22 weeks and I’m seeking for a vibrating baby monitor. You see I decided to stay home until my baby is in pre-school and then go to work. Because I’m going to be home a lot I’ll be doing the house chores and all that. That’s why I need a vibrating baby monitor that way I can always be alerted when my baby cries or whatever while I’m vacuuming or whatever. Another thing I should mention is that I am hearing impaired and have very little vision. The once with lights won't work for me....

5 Month Old Breastfed Baby, Sleep Issues, Formula and Miracle Blanket

I think I may have a unique problem that is a combination of breastfeeding, swaddling, sleep, and sanity... My 5 month old daughter Isabella was never a great sleeper. She cluster fed from the beginning and if it wasn't for the pump I think I would have either given up breastfeeding or jumped off a bridge! A friend of mine highly recommended the miracle blanket which is sort of like a baby straightjacket. It worked in extending her sleep by an hour or two (when she only slept a couple of hours, it was very helpful) and it became...

Co - Sleeping

Hello my name is K., I'm a first time new mommy to a now, WONDERFUL 3 month old little boy. I believe that he had Colic until about a few weeks ago. He would cry every night from 4- 10 pm with breaks only to feed, NOTHING we did worked. Until the magical age of 2 1/2 months it was like one day EVERYTHING changed and now he hardly is fussy at all. My question is evern since he was born when we would try to place him in the bassinet to sleep he would startle himself awake and it would be impossible to get him back to sleep, so my husband and...

Advice on "No Cry Sleep Solution" - How to Put Baby to Bed Awake

Our baby was born 10 weeks premature. His corrected age is 2.5 months. He came home from the hospital 4 weeks before his due date, so he has been home with us for about 3.5 months. Since he came home, he has slept in our bed with us and taken his naps in our arms. We have typically waited until he is fast asleep before putting him down at night. This was the only way we could get him to sleep. I know this is what Dr. Sears recommends for all babies, but it is not quite working for us. We are following Pantley's "No Cry Sleep Solution."...

Swaddlegate - the Unswaddling of My 4 Month Old

My baby will turn 4 months in a week. For the past 3 weeks, he's been busting out of every swaddle we have tried for him. The miracle blanket, the Snug and Tug, the Kiddapotamus, etc. He doesn't bust out of it necessarily, but he figures out a way to wiggle one or both arms out. When he was 3 months old, we tried unswaddling him for several nights and he was completely overtired because his startle reflex would usually keep him awake. So we ditched that idea after 5 days and 4 nights of barely any sleep. But now, he busts out...

Sensitive Infant and Sleep

Anyone out there has a sensitive infant who does not want to be held and has the most difficult time sleeping on his own. I feel bad that I can't find anything to soothe him and he is trying so hard to sleep, but he doesn't want to be held and the only thing that gets him settled is to be in a quiet place but that's not possible with an active pre-schooler. He sometimes like to nurse but it irritates his colicky tummy, and after he eats, he is not interested in nursing for comfort. It is frustrating especially after I labored to get him...

A Binky Problem...

My daughter is just over a month old and I cannot get her to sleep at night. She seems to fight it. She gets so grumpy around 8 pm so I try putting her to bed. First we rock until she falls asleep so then I take her and lay her in her pack n play. (she is still sleeping in my room) As soon as her binky falls out she starts crying. She will continue to cry until I go in and put it back in her mouth. I have tried to let her fall back asleep on her own but she just gets so upset that it doesn’t happen. We go through the binky ordeal...

Miracle Blanket Users - When Did You Stop Using It?

My daughter just turned 6 months old and still sleeps wrapped up tightly in her miracle blanket. Wondering when your kids wrestled free. (My oldest used Miracle blankets until about 5 months and always woke up with it sort of loosely wrapped in place until she finally broke free -- then we dropped it cold turkey. Shortly thereafter she started sleeping on her belly in a Halo.) Is there any reason for me to stop wrapping her up? I told her doc at her well baby visit that she still sleeps swaddled up tightly and he didn't bat an eye so I...

Screaming Baby When Breastfeeding

Hello, My son is almost 4 months old now and has been very colicky from the start where he would just cry and scream for 4 hours straight at night. That has gotten better but for the past 6 weeks or so he has started to scream when I try to breastfeed him at night. Sometimes it even happens during the day when I am home from work on the weekends. I feed him one breast and that usually goes well, although it takes quite a while to finish because he is so distracted and interested in everything now. When we switch to the 2nd breast ...
