Must Haves for 2Nd Baby

I'm thinking pretty far ahead right now, but we just found out that I'm pregnant with our second child and I'm eager to do something. I was trying to decide what things we would need to buy. My son will be 3 when the baby is born and we still have everything from when he was a baby. Obviously if it's a girl I'll need to get some things, but other than gender specific items what things did you find really helpful with your second child? Opinions on double strollers? Another infant carrier since I'll be chasing a toddler with this one?...

Bedtime Routine for toddler/Attachment Parenting

My daughter is 22 months and spirited and putting her to sleep has always been a challenge. She still needs to be walked in the Ergo, nursed to sleep or bounced on an exercise ball to fall asleep. We do a snack, pajamas, books and a song and then my husband usually puts her in the Ergo and walks up and down the hall and she falls asleep in 15-20 minutes or so and puts her in her toddler bed. She would probably fall asleep with a bottle but I feel that it may be a crutch for her in the long run. Are there any tips on helping a toddler...

9 Week Old Baby Sleep Habits

my 9 week old son will not stay asleep unless in the ergo baby or right next to me. we started co-sleeping by accident when he was only a few weeks old. i fell asleep while nursing him and found that he slept for 3 hours at a time. it was great so i kept it up. soon after we purchased a Summer co-sleeper for a safer co-sleeping option. at first he would sleep there from 8-12 pm after being swaddled and nursed, but only a week later, he would wake after just a few minutes of being put down, even if his limbs were limp (as suggested by...

Ergo for a Toddler?

Hi Moms! I am seeking that perfect baby carrier for traveling abroad. For those Moms that own an Ergo, do you still use it for toddlers? Would it be comfortable to have a 30+ pound baby in it for day long trips? I am deciding if I should get an Ergo or go more substantial and get a Deuter Kid Comfort III. Any suggestions?

Ergo - Yes or No?

My 15 month old son was "worn" as an infant almost daily until he was about 10 months old. When we go out, he is usally in a stroller - but that only lasts about an hour or less and he is just learning to walk - pretty good at it - but not good enough to walk the mall or an outdoor event. I was wondering what your thoughts were about and Ergo carrier. Good and Bad. My son is 25 lbs and 32" - he likes being held - so I am sure that he would love the front or back piggy rides. Do you have an Ergo? Do you love it? Is it worth the money?...

I Just Can Seem to Figure Out How to Do It - Nap Schedule with 2 Kiddos

I feel as if I have tried everything with no success. I just can't seem to figure out how to get my 5 month old on a good nap schedule while still attending to the needs of my 2 year old. Granted, my 5 month old isn't sleeping that great as of yet, so that is why I would really like to get her on some sort of schedule, but I just can't seem to figure out how to do it with my 2 year old running around. I feel like I am either neglecting my 5 month old's needs as we run around doing all of the other activities, waking her up in the car...

Refuses All Formula

8 mo. old baby girl allergic to soy and dairy (causes mild to moderate rashes). Recently stopped breastfeeding per doctor's direction, switched to hypoallergenic/amino acid based formula ("Neocate"). She has been eating solid organic homemade food for 4 months in addition to breast milk. First day of formula, she took 19 ounces (had to distract her), then 16 the second day, then 6, then 3, now, won't take any. We are in Belgium on vacation. We have given her water (about 6 oz. total each day). In order to try and encourage her to take...

Sleep and the Ergo

Hello mamas, I have a question for those of you out there who are doing parent-directed feeding and using the Ergo sling (or any other carrier). My baby daughter is 12 days old. In the Ergo, she doesn't seem to get good quality sleep OR active/alert time. I love the slings utility, though, and would like to use it at times So- is she just too young for a carrier? Should I wait until she stays awake more easily? Can a baby get a good quality nap in a carrier? Any thoughts on the best time of day to have her in the carrier at this...

Feedback About the Ergo Infant Carrier

I'm curious if anyone has used the Ergo Infant Carrier and what you thought of it. My son is almost 6 months old and, of course, loves to be carried all the time. But I've had a brace on my wrist for a month and it's hard to hold him too long without a carrier. He hates the sling and he's way too heavy in the bjorn now. It's killing my back. The Ergo looks like a great product but it's very expensive so I was hoping for some reviews from others who've used it. Any thoughts on infant carriers for 6 - 12 month olds?
