2 Questions: Naps and Bedtime

My son will be 4 months old in 2 days. My first question is about napping. This kid doesn't like to sleep... I have days where he might take a nap and others where he may take a catnap or 2 (like 15 mins. or so) and other days, he won't nap at all. I know he gets tired but he fights it. He doesn't have a routine, plus he likes to be held in order to fall asleep. The minute you put him down, 80% of the time he wakes right up and that's the end of the nap. Sometimes myself or my mom will hold him while he naps, but I can't do that all the...

Skipping the Bedtime Bath Routine

My son has a little spot of eczema on his face so from the advise I have seen out there I shouldn't bath him everyday. Unfortunately he loves his night time routine which includes his relaxing bath. I have stopped using any kind of soap directly on his face, but I can't stop him from splashing, dunking his face, and puting soap bubbles on his face. Anyone have any suggestions on what to substitute with on the non-bath nights? He has been doing so well with going to bed with a regular night routine I am afraid to break the routine, but I...

Need a Recommendation on a Good Soap for 18 Mnth Old

My daughter is 18mnths old. She has sensitive skin, I used to use Aveeno creamy baby wash on her when she was an infant, which I loved. But I switched over to Dove sensitive skin once she turned one, because I figured that she needed a cleanser that was a little more effective. But, I've found that I don't like the Dove. It irritates me and my Mom. Just something about it that I don't like. I was wondering if the Aveeno baby is still cool to use on an older baby. Or is there some other effective but mild soap or wash that I can try on her....

Excema and Poor Sleep Habits

Hello fellow mamas! I am going a little bit crazy with sleep deprivation. My daughter has excema and wakes up very frequently scratching herself, at least every 2 hours throught the night, if not more. She really resists sleeping at all, the only way I can get her to sleep, or back to sleep is nursing. I am committed to many of the ideals of attachment parenting, feeding on demand and co-sleeping among them. BUT, i am getting more and more tired and resentful. Because of the itching situation and because we have a small space, 1 br, i feel...

Major Sleep Problems with 15 Month Old - Looking for help....any Help.

Where to begin? I have never been good with the sleep thing. My son is 15 months old and for about the first year I nursed/rocked/walked him to sleep. I remember those first few months he would cry and cry until I got up and walked him around. And i remember thinking what a bad habit I was starting but i could not bear to hear him wailing. He's never slept through the night - not even close. Nowadays he is up about 5-8 times a night and I seriously don't know what to do. I nurse him at 7pm and then when I'm done my husband comes...

Help Me Soothe My Baby!!!

Hello to ALL!! My little guy will be 9 months in a couple of days, and he has been suffering from eczema basically his whole life. Everytime his doctor prescribes something, it works for a few days (STARTS clearing up) then gets just as bad, or a little worse, after that. I have very sensitive skin, while his father suffers from eczema. I just don't know how to help him. EVERYTHING that goes on his skin is non-irritant, and scent free, as is my fabric detergent. If anyone has any ideas how I can help my little guy, PLEASE let me in on...

Screaming After His Bath!! Why?

Tonight I gave my son a bath as I do several times a week. Tonight nothing was different, except when I put his lotion on him after his bath he began screaming like crazy!! It's the same lotion I always use. I held him while he screamed, then he would calm down, then screamed again a few minutes later. He continued this for like 15 to 20 minutes, until he finally fell asleep on me. After he was calm I laid him on his changing table and noticed he was a little red on his upper upper thigh, when his legs meet his torso. Can anyone tell me...
