Fingers Skin Peeling Off

I have been dealing with this issue (the skin on my fingertips peeling off) for years but it seems to have gotten worse in the last few months and whatever OTC cream I use it does not work, so I am thinking seeing a dermatologist, as he may be able to prescribe something to help. I have been using otc hydrocortisone cream for a month now and it helped just a little (it helps the cracked skin to heal, but since the skin is still very dry, it starts peeling off again). Anyone have dealt with this? Thanks.

Can Prolonged Use of Hydrocortisone Cream Affect Growth of Child?

Hello moms. My 18 month old boy has chronic eczema since he was 6 months old and have been using a hydrocortisone cream prescribed by our pediatrician. We have been applying this cream, a 2.5% formulation cream since he was an infant with varying degrees of eczema relief. He has needed it on a daily basis and we have been applying it twice a day to his ankles, wrists and behind the knee--the areas that are affected. We also use Aquaphor and pretoleum jelly emollients to relieve his dry skin. We have not asked our pediatrician though...

Cracked Painful Skin Issues

My two year old has a patch of dry, cracked and painful skin right behind only one of her ears. There are little red bumps and its even crusty. This has been going on for almost two months. I dry carefully behind her ears after baths- so I know that its not from that. I have been moisturizing the area with vaseline- but by the time she wakes up in the morning, it is dry, cracked and crusty again. She complains that it is painful too! She used to wear earings- and I took them out- I thought they may be causing irritation- but its been...

Red/raw Skin Around Lips

My almost eight year old daughter has a very bad habit of licking around her lips during the winter months ( starting last winter). This causes a vicious cycle because it dries out the skin, making her lick it and then it's more red and becomes crusty. The fact that it's unsightly is bad enough but it's also a health concern as well. Last winter it allowed impetigo to occur because the broken skin became infected. Most things I have tried to put on her skin I am told "burn" and she won't use them. I have tried petroleum based products and...

Good Cleansers for Rosacea

I was told I have rosacea about a year ago. I'm having a real hard time finding cleansers that don't freak my skin out. Anything I use has to be soap free, oil free, fragrance free, the works. I typically use Oil of Olay cleansers but sometimes it's like my skin is getting used to it and not responding. I'm currently having a bad flareup and even the cream I bought over the counter specifically for rosacea isn't working. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What Helps an Itchy Scar

I had a freckle that was starting to change on my upper abdomen and I went to the dermatologist for it and they removed the top layer and it did come back abnormal. So they went in and took out more of the area to remove any cells that could have been left behind. This was a year ago October and the scar is ugly and it itches quite badly. Has this happened to any of you and what helped relieve the itching. I have a call put into the dermatologist but I thought I would ask here while I wait for them to call me back.

My 2 yr old has little bumps on her arms and legs some of them are white almost "zit-like" . I have seen this before on kids and toddlers . I've been told by people its from dry skin. It is worse on her arms then legs. Does anyone know what this could be, and how I can treat it? She has had it for a few months and if I could avoid taking her to the Dr. that would be wonderful!! thanks
