Desparately Needing Help with Potty Training

My son is 3 years old. I can not seem to get him to even go potty on the toilet let alone train him. He sits on the little potty but doesn't do anything. He knows when he needs to be changed and will go and get a pull-up for me. He even sometimes takes off his pull-up before he hands me a new one. My family gives me a hard time that he is not trained yet. My doctor says he will be trained in time. Any suggestions anyone may have would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this site and there may already be something out there. I am just...

Potty Training a Boy Who Is Afraid

My just turned 3 son is afraid of going on the potty. I have tried two differant sets he would take is diaper off and sit on them. He tells me when he went in his diaper and that he wants to get changed. But every time I mention going on the potty he tells me no. My husband tries to take him into the bathroom to watch and he does for a moment and then tells my husband that it is to scary. But to tell you the truth I would really like to get him out of the diapers. Anyone have any suggestions or went through the same thing?

When to Stop Potty Training Treats?

Hi Moms! We started potty training our 32month old son three weeks ago. The first week was pretty tough, but exactly one week after we first started, it clicked for him and he has been using the potty ever since. We still give him two gummie bears EVERYTIME he goes pee or poop. Before this, he had never had candy. We don't do much sugar at home so I'm concerned about his teeth. Should I be? We brush twice a day, but I guess I'm concerned about giving him so much candy throughout the day everyday. Not sure if I'm worry for nothing. I...

Pull-ups or Panties?

My almost 2 1/2 year old is ready to potty train I think. She is showing all signs and is going to the potty occassionally. She asks to go potty all the time but doesn't always go. I've started a sticker chart but she is still wearing diapers. I was thinking at the end of this month we'd try to either go cold-turkey to panties or try pull-ups. Any advice on this? I know a lot of parents have mixed feelings on pull-ups. Thanks, N.
