Gas, Acid Reflux, or Just Fussy?????

My son is 22 days old today. The first week and half he was a great baby. He seemed very content to just eat and sleep. He only cried if he was wet or hungry or tired. The past week and half I've noticed a change. He gets cranky at different times of the day...particularly toward late afternoon and evening. At these times it seems nothing you do helps him. He squirms and wriggles and cries the whole time. I started an elimination diet on Friday because I nurse and thought maybe something I am eating bothers him. I have to do it...

Help!!! Entire Extended Family Going Camping in 2 Weeks

Help!!! I'm a late check-out and room service girl. I know nothing about camping for grown ups let alone how to do it with an infant. We were supposed to do a resort weekend but due to economy and finances, the majority voted in favor of camping. What do I need to take? What are musts? What are nice to haves? What kind of foods do I take? How do I keep them from spoiling and not getting soaked in an ice chest? I don't even know what I should be asking. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please let me hear from all expert and/or...

Acid Reflux or Just His Personality? How Can We Get Some Sleep?!

Hi everyone, this is my first time on mamasource! I am the proud mama of a beautiful 7 week old baby boy...with bad acid reflux. He is on baby prilosec but he is still spits up a lot. It is so bad that I can't lay him down in his crib at night. I have a infant wedge and I have raised one side of the bed off the floor but it still doesn't help. He chokes on his spit up when we lay him down. He is overall a very uncomforrable baby. Sometimes I can't do anything but hold him. He likes to be up on my shoulder. Some days he is not...

The Real Truth About Breast Feeding.

With my first child I didn't breast feed. I was told all these horror stories about how it hurts. You get raw, One breast can become bigger than the other and never return to its original size, Clogged milk ducts that get infected. Some people went as far as to tell me my breasts would sag afterwords. The scariest thing I was told was that my friends friends friend had her nipple bitten clean off... LoL Not sure if there's any truth behind that one though. But it sure put a bad image in my head. I'd like to know the truth behind breast...

When Should We Start Training Our 18 Month Old Son?

My son is 18 months and takes great pride in peeing and pooping, happily declaring when he has accomplished both (although he does not always inform us). When should we start to introduce a potty chair to him? Is it too early to bring one in now and let him get familiar with it? [Thank you all for the wonderful responses. I am actually now looking forward to introducing the potty. I will try the Baby Bjorn potty that several of you mentioned. Will let you know how it all turns out. Seems that the general consensus is to be casual...
