Need Help with Asthma

My son is 5 1/2 years old and he has asthma. He has non-stop coughing. The doctor put him on Advair twice a day. He has been feeling good for 2 weeks but we stopped p.e. in school, soccer, and restrict his time outside especially at night. This week he was allowed to go back to normal routine. He played with a friend outside one evening, soccer practice at 5:15-6:15 and he went trick or treating. He is soooooooooo sick! Since yesterday he's been coughing nonstop and now he sounds like he is crouping. I'm so frustrated because he can't do...

My Infant Has Major "Gunk" Again, What Can I Do?

Hello Moms! Ok, I am sure I am not the only child with this problem- especially since we live in the dfw area. It has gone from 80 degrees to 20 degrees in one week and all three of my kiddos are "gunkie". Now, my 7 and 4 year old I can give over the counter meds to help them manage. But our 9 month old can not take that. I am constantly using the bulbed nose "thing"- sucking out what we can (how he loves that- NOT). I use saline spray, I use a vicks, I use a steamer in his room with the vicks in it. I have placed a boiling pot of...

Any Other Options You Have Tried for a Toddler's Very Severe Asthma?

I am writing this in hopes to have any and all suggestions and personal experiences sent my way! My little guy who is now 3 years old has been battling asthma/allergies since he was 6 months old. He has been on every nebulized medication (xopenex, albuterol, pulmicort, etc.), every inhaler (albuterol, advair, symbicort), every allergy med (zyrtec, nasonex, veramyst) plus orapred (prednisone) and countless antibiotics (to treat sinus infections, ear infections, etc) too many times to count. We even did a prophylactic antibiotic through...

Child with Respiratory Needs Mom's Advice, Please

My dd, has had respiratory problems every winter. As soon as cold season starts and hits her is goes straight to her lungs. She doesn't get a runny rose or fever. She just can't breath-It comes with the cough and wheezing especially at night. I have known she was really sick and taken her to the doctor at 3, 15, and 21 months, without the fever the doctors didn't think she was, but X-rayed her chest any way to find she had pneumonia. Which with the antibiotic cleared up soon. Sure enough the coughing and wheezing started again last...
