Looking for Advice on Infant Skincare

My 5 month old daughter is very chubby and has very red, chaffed skin on the back of her knees. I'm sure it's because her legs are so chubby, but I can't find anything that helps it. I've tried Aquaphor, Vaseline, A&D, baby oil - nothing works. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!!

Rash from Wedding/Engagement Rings

I've been married for nearly five years and just recently developed a rash under my wedding and engagements rings. Both are 18K white gold and I had them appraised, so I know they are real. The rash is red, flaky, itchy (like eczema). I'm worried it's a sign about our marriage! :) I haven't changed any beauty products or my diet. Has anyone had this problem--and how do you fix it? I've tried hydrocortisone, but it helps only a little bit. I don't like walking around with my naked finger!

Acid Mantle (Cream Mixed with Hydrocortisone) - Is It Safe?

I have a 15 month old son who has extremely sensitive skin and had horrible ezcema (sp?) since he was an infant. We found out that it was mostly caused by an allergy to pet dander so we had to give up our pug. Well, we have been using a prescription cream on him called A-Mantle since he was about 6 months old that our Pediatric Allergist prescribed (who is associated with CHOP). This cream is a hydrocortisone mixed with some other type of cream. We use it on him practically every single day (since he still has ezcema). I specifically...

Can Prolonged Use of Hydrocortisone Cream Affect Growth of Child?

Hello moms. My 18 month old boy has chronic eczema since he was 6 months old and have been using a hydrocortisone cream prescribed by our pediatrician. We have been applying this cream, a 2.5% formulation cream since he was an infant with varying degrees of eczema relief. He has needed it on a daily basis and we have been applying it twice a day to his ankles, wrists and behind the knee--the areas that are affected. We also use Aquaphor and pretoleum jelly emollients to relieve his dry skin. We have not asked our pediatrician though...

Toddler's Urine Irritates His Skin

My 2-year old son has been trying out the potty. Usually he sits on it every night before bed (in addition to other times). The last few nights, he has peed while on the potty and some of his urine has ended up on the toilet seat (one that sits on top of the regular toilet seat). Within seconds he starts crying and scratching at his butt and genitals. I can tell it is irritating his skin and it makes him clench up his muscles and collapse. Tonight, he scratched so hard it made him bleed. We have given him Benadryl and put...

Is It an Allergy Rash, Hypersensitivity or What???

Hello ladies: I have a 61/2 mos old boy and I'm very concern. He has developed a terrible rash, on his little butt that at this point I'm not sure what it could be. It looks like he sat on a hot plate and got a serious burn. It mildly started about 2 mos ago and I took him to the pediatrician and she said to use hydrocortisone and if it continued she thought I would eventually either have to get a hypoallergenic diaper or use cloth diapers. I originally had some diaper changes and finally decided to go back to what he has been using since...

What Products to Use for an Infant Who Has a Rash

Hi I was wondering what products many of you recommend for an infant (2 month old) who has a very bad sandpaper like rash all over her body. Her back is actually peeling today since her skin has been so dry. I did take her to her Pediatrician who ruled out any illness. He stated it may be sensitive skin or she may be having a reaction to a food that I am eating as she also has very bad reflux along with it. I use dreft detergent on all clothes/linens that come into contact with her. I use Eucerin on her skin which does seem to help a...

Rash on Belly, No Other Symptoms, Go to Doctor?

Good morning mamas :) I was wondering about something. Yesterday my 3-year-old daughter came home from school with a speckly rash on her belly that wasn't there before. She has not been sick and has no other symptoms, she tells me she feels fine, and that the rash doesn't itch. So we went to bed, and here it is the next day, the rash is still there, no change, no other symptoms, and the rash doesn't bother her. I don't know whether to get it checked out or just wait another day. Any of you had the same experience? Thanks in advance...

Help with Eczema

My 6 month old was just diagnosed with eczema and I am trying to get his breakouts under control. The doctors are not so helpful on what is causing it (basically saying it could be anything). At this point my poor son is covered in the rash and can't sleep because his normal self soothing method is rubbing his face with a snuggly and his face is raw. Have any of you dealt with this? Do you have any tips other than hydrocortisone on how to sooth my poor baby?

I use the hydrocortisone cream and aquaphor mostly every day, but my question is what do you do when the "2 weeks" is up that you are supposed to stop using steroid cream and your daughter is still just as bad off as she was with the creams? Also, any other solutions to itching at night esp. and when does this ever end would be great!

My son is 14 months and after treating him for diaper rash/yeast infection for 4 months,I believe that he has eczema in the diaper area. It looks like little red bumps. The reason why I think is eczema it's because the only thing that takes those bumps away is prescribed hydrocortisone 2%. But I've been reading about all the side effects of the hydrocortisone and I don't want to keep using it. I've been using aquaphone too but no improvement. Has anybody had a similar experience?

He has never actually gone in the potty and has asked me to show him how...I defered to my husband on that one! When I ask if he wants to use the potty, he usually tells me "so I can get m&m's?" Seeking Advice for 4Y Daughter's Recurrent Vaginitis and Infections.

She has had vaginitis and yeast infections for about 2 years. Any suggestions for prevention? We don't take bubble baths, use perfumed soaps, or wipe back to front. I bought her feminine wash for sensitive skin which helps, but at least 3 days a week she cries because her front is so red and irritated. Doc always says to use hydrocortisone if just red but it burns. If infection use premarine mixed with monistat for 3 days and monistat for 4 more days. I hate using premarine because of possible side effects. Help

I happened to have her one year well check two days ago and they were perplexed too. The dr. thought it might be eczema, which is a strange place to have it, I think. I have always used the ABC line from Arbonne on her, but...
