Infant Bed for Travel

My husband and I are planning some weekend trips this summer with our almost 6-month old baby. We've never had him sleep in our bed for fear of SIDS and crushing him. He co-slept in a bedside bassinet (Arms Reach co-sleeper) for 2 months, then he transitioned well into his own crib. We're scared that he won't sleep in the hotel crib if we rent one and we don't want to bring a pack n' play, which I believe is very uncomfortable for him now. The co-sleeper is too small for him too. We are considering having him sleep in our bed but we haven't...

How Do I Safely Co-sleep with My 4 Week Old?

My 4 week old sleeps in 2-3 hour chunks during the day, but at night is up every hour feeding. Quite a few moms have suggested co-sleeping to make baby feel more secure, be able to feed easier when it is frequent, etc. How can I co-sleep safely? (baby is currently in bassinet right next to bed)

Help!! 11 Month Old Dd Hitting and Tantrums

My dd who will turn 1 in a couple of weeks has been acting out lately. She has been hitting and throws fits when I am trying to change her diaper or even just hold her. I thought she was just tired of mom but yesterday she started acting out towards her dad. It is worse when her sister who is 7 gets near her. If my oldest dd goes near her she starts screaming and throwing fits. If she is sitting up at the time she falls over and starts hollaring and jabbering and rolls around on the floor and if you are in arms reach she hits you. I...

6 Week Old Not Sleeping at Night or in Crib

My son is almost 6 weeks old and will not sleep in his crib, especially at night. He does take Prevacid for reflux (only for the past 3 days..waiting for it to kick in). He wakes himself up from spitting up so much. He is a breastfed baby but constantly spits up, especially when laid down. We have tried everything... bed is elevated, wedges used to keep him snug, sleeping on side, laying him down when he is almost asleep. He won't let me swaddle him because he gets mad when he can't move his arms. I have tried letting him sleep in his...

Out Growing Arms Reach Co-sleeper, What Now?

Our daughter is now 6 months and has been sleeping in an Arms Reach co-sleeper since birth and has always started out the night there except the first few weeks. She currently goes to bed in the co-sleeper at 7pm and is out relatively quickly unless she is having a bad teeth night or got over tired due to missing a nap during the day. I recently figured out how to nurse in bed on my side (about time!) and she wakes at about 4am to nurse and I have been bringing her into bed and feeding her and then she sleeps the rest of the night in bed...

Co-sleeping When Sick--just Out of Curiosity

We are not a co-sleeping family, but the question about a cribless nursery prompted me to wonder if co-sleeping families tend to still co-sleep when either the parent(s) or the child is sick? I suppose that attachment parenting would say that a sick child needs the comfort of their parents at that time even more, but if the parent is sick and the baby is healthy, would you put the baby in a crib to help keep them healthy? I know that when I am sick I am hacking my lungs out all night, and my husband doesn't sleep well and tells me that...

Safety of Bath Seats?

I have a new dilemma with my twin girls.I was bathing them individaully at the kitchen sink while the other one played on the floor at my feet. But now that they are getting bigger and bigger by the day and will be 9 months next friday they no longer fit in the sink and no longer stay at my feet, they love to wander about. I was thinking that a solution would be bathing them in our clawfoot tub but since most every night I am left alone to bath the girls, my husband works nights, I think it would be hard to do this alone safely. But...

Ideas Needed for Sleeping Arrangements

I have a 10m daughter and we co-sleep in an arms reach co-sleeper. Recently, her sleep has been very restless. She wakes up several times a night, crying and crawling around, trying to stand in her cosleeper! Luckily, I wake up right away and catch her, but still. We need another sleeping arrangement. I realize I can put our matresses on the floor, but what about her co-sleeper? She'd be above us. Are there any kind of co-sleeping beds that work for a child who's slightly older? We still want her to have an enclosed, or partially...
