Eczema on 6Mo Fingers

My 6mo son has some eczema spots on his fingers. My other son had eczema, as well. Per doctor's instructions, we've always used hydrocortisone cream on the spots that just don't go away. We've never had to deal with spots on the face or hands though. Our 6mo is a thumb (and occasional finger) sucker. So... any ideas on what we could use to get rid of those spots? I'm not putting the hydrocortisone cream somewhere he might lick/suck it off. Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hydrocortisone Cream and 6 Month Olds Face

My ped. put my son on perscription Hydrocortisone cream a few weeks ago for red spots, dry spots on his face. I have had skin issues all my life and have always been told not to use HC for a long period of time. I try to not use the cream all the time, so I apply when he has the spots and when they go away I stop, BUT they come back a day or two later. Should I stop using this and find something else, call the doctor? Or just use it?? Any suggestions?
