Is It an Allergy Rash, Hypersensitivity or What???

Hello ladies: I have a 61/2 mos old boy and I'm very concern. He has developed a terrible rash, on his little butt that at this point I'm not sure what it could be. It looks like he sat on a hot plate and got a serious burn. It mildly started about 2 mos ago and I took him to the pediatrician and she said to use hydrocortisone and if it continued she thought I would eventually either have to get a hypoallergenic diaper or use cloth diapers. I originally had some diaper changes and finally decided to go back to what he has been using since...

Baby's Poo Burned Her Bottom :(

My 15month old daughter had a poo that burned her bottom so badly there are even 2 small spots where the skin is a little broken from blistering. Has anyone experienced this? There were no new or acidic foods and she's not sick, I'm not sure what could have caused it. It happened late yesterday afternoon at daycare, and when I got her home to bathe her she couldn't even sit in the water and cried from pain, it was awful. I put lots of diaper cream for the night and this morning it was better, it also seemed to be healing throughout the day....

Diaper Rash .

So my daughter has had these outbreaks of diaper rashes. I've went to the doctor and tried to get prescribed diaper creams. it seems like they work until i run out. then it comes back... they get so bad she's even bled before. it kills me to see her going through that. I changed her diaper too. She wears pampers now. cause she seems to break out worse when using the cheaper diapers. but her diaper area looks good right now... but they always come back. have any of you had this problem? what do you suggest?

Diaper Rash? or Something Else?

My son is 8 months old. For the past month, we've been battling what we had assumed was diaper rash. However, even after putting on diaper rash cream, A & D ointment, or cornstarch powder. Instead of getting better, it seems to be getting worse. Also one small spot of it almost looks like ringworm instead of diaper rash, and the worst of the rash is above his bottom on his lower back, and also on the front on his lower abdomen. It won't go away!!! What do I need to do?? Should I see the dr. about it??

What Should I Do for Diaper Rash?

I think my 2 month old son has some diaper rash on the inside of his thighs and his lower stomach above his diaper. I have never seen or felt diaper rash so I'm not sure if that is what it is. The skin is bumpy and feels leathery. I have applied some A+D Ointment on it but I'm not seeing a difference. Do any other moms have any suggestions of anything else I should be applying? Does Desitin work better? Thanks, D.

Can Prolonged Use of Hydrocortisone Cream Affect Growth of Child?

Hello moms. My 18 month old boy has chronic eczema since he was 6 months old and have been using a hydrocortisone cream prescribed by our pediatrician. We have been applying this cream, a 2.5% formulation cream since he was an infant with varying degrees of eczema relief. He has needed it on a daily basis and we have been applying it twice a day to his ankles, wrists and behind the knee--the areas that are affected. We also use Aquaphor and pretoleum jelly emollients to relieve his dry skin. We have not asked our pediatrician though...

Toddler's Urine Irritates His Skin

My 2-year old son has been trying out the potty. Usually he sits on it every night before bed (in addition to other times). The last few nights, he has peed while on the potty and some of his urine has ended up on the toilet seat (one that sits on top of the regular toilet seat). Within seconds he starts crying and scratching at his butt and genitals. I can tell it is irritating his skin and it makes him clench up his muscles and collapse. Tonight, he scratched so hard it made him bleed. We have given him Benadryl and put...

Best Diaper Rash Cream and Baby Wipes?

My 17 mo. old developed a diaper rash yesterday. He rarely gets a rash, but when he does, they're bad. He usually onlt gets a rash if he has diarrhea, which he doesn't have now. His bottom is red, and there are spots that are starting to get raw, but no bumps. He screams in pain every time I change his diaper. I bought some wipes for sensitive skin, but they don't seem to be any different than the regular wipes. I tried Beudreaux's Butt Paste yesterday and it seemed to make it worse (he couldn't even sit down). I used A&D ointment...
