Questions Regarding Daughter Starting Kindergarten

My daughter is starting kindergarten this fall and I have a few questions for moms of 1st or 2nd grade girls. This may seem strange but what kind of backpacks and lunch kits did most of the girls carry? I know she would probably like another "princess" or character backpack, but I'm wondering at what age is that not "cool" anymore. Diaper Bag Suggestions?

My husband and I are looking for a new diaper bag. These are the "specs" we desire: straps that can function as a back pack and an over the shoulder bag (depending on the day we can choose which set of straps we want), large enough to pack what our baby needs for one day of daycare, lots of compartments instead of one bottomless pit, and an upright place to store bottles. Backpack Recommendations, Please.

I'm looking to buy a quality backpack that will last a few years, at least, for my 5 year old starting TK in the fall. Currently, she's using an LL Bean backpack that someone gifted us, but it doesn't seem big enough to fit a standard folder with pockets and it looks like she'll outgrow it quickly. I've heard good things about LL Bean backpacks so I'm looking into their bigger backpacks. I've also looked at Pottery Barn Kids backpacks.
