I put a hamburger bun in the oven and asked him to look in the oven. He was totally confused. He said, "What the heck is going on? There's a bun in the oven." I had to repeat, "Yup, there's a bun in the oven" a couple times until it registered!

I sent blue & pink balloons to my husband at work with a card that said "Roses are red violets are blue your no longer going to be the father of just 2" He was the step father of the first 2 & this was his 1st child. He fainted..

Asking him to put in for 2 weeks of vacation time around your due date... when he ask why. Tell him You'll need someone to help coach the pushing and holding the baby. Say it in a casual tone, then watch his face light up.

I emptied my hubby's drawer of boxers and filled it with diapers and put a onesie that said I Love Daddy on top. Boy was he surprised when he went looking for his skivvies!

My husband gave me the bride & groom VT Teddy Bears the night before our wedding, when I found out I was pregnant, I had a VT Teddy Bear made with a Bib that was monogramed, Baby McKenna, ETA 7-14-03. And then sat on the couch w/ all 3 bears next to me!

Whenever we talked about having a family, my husband said he couldn't wait to coach his kid's soccer team. And since I found out right before Valentine's Day, I bought a youth soccer ball, wrapped it, and gave it to him for Valentine's.

I tied a blue and pink balloon to his car, and had the receptionist call and tell him there had been an accident in the parking lot and he needed to go out there. I was in my car parked across from him, and saw his reaction as he saw the balloons!

we tried for 3 yrs & every mth my husband would put his face to my belly & say "is there a baby in there??" when i got the positive test i clipped a Sabres onesie (that i bought 3 yrs earlier) to my belly with a sign saying "yep, there's a baby in there!"

Adopted, but plan to have a bio child. Goin 2 have my sisters over 4 dinner, give them an invite 4 "allnighter" at my house around dd. 2 watch a new life come into the world. Were a big home birth fam, always there 4 eachothers so hopefuly they'll get it.

My husband and I told his parents that I had gotten a tattoo on my abdomen but they didn't believe me so I lifted my shirt to reveal a drawing of a baby right below my belly button that my husband drew! They screamed and cried and thanked Jesus!

We told our parents by wrapping up picture frames that said "Number one Grandma or Grandpa". It took a few seconds for it to register that they were going to be grandparents. Then there were tears, of course.

I like to read baby and kid magazines but my husband wont buy them for me saying "you dont need those, the day you become pregnant, THEN ill buy you some" so the day i'm pregnant, i'm going to go buy as many as i can find and lay them all over the house!

I bought a pair of pink booties and a pair of blue booties and had the waitress bring them on our tray at dinner. The whole restaurant and wait staff were trying to get a peek at his reaction--which was complete mystification for several moments!

I photo copied and enlarged a picture of a pregnant belly, cut it like a puzzle and had the pieces delivered. I left out the last piece that said Baby (our last name) due April 7th. I put in the final piece to clear up the confusion. Tears and cheers!

I gave a sonogram frame to my mom on Christmas. I wrapped it like a present. The initial shock of the sonogram caught her off guard. I would even say it startled her. Then she cried & screamed, My sister had to read the poem of expectancy to her.

When we found out that our second child was going to be born around Christmas we decided to make out list for the grandparents to let them know what we needed that year, and of course it had all baby items. Our kids are 8 yrs. apart , we had to start over

To tell my parents, we took over Chinese food for them. We had taken out the fortune cookies slips of paper and added our own that said "Now you are a good father...soon you will be a GRAND father." etc. The "lucky numbers" on the back were the due date.

On Mother's Day I game my mom and mil a candle holder that had picture frames on it. In 2 I put pics of my step-sons when they were little then a sonogram pic. my mom was totally confused and my mil went nuts... then the tears started!!

I was expecting my third around Fall/Halloween timeframe, so I sent my husband a suprise plant to work and they had put a little pumpkin for decoration in it, and the card read We love you, love your girls and your newest little pumpkin!

We have the personalized "family character" magnets on our fridge, with "Mom", "Dad" and our first son's name. When I found out about #2, I added a "Baby" one to the group. It took awhile for my hubby to notice it but he was super excited when he did!

My husband and I framed a picture of the ultrasound showing Baby A and Baby B and gave it to my father for Father's day. I am so happy he was able to see that and meet my children before he passed away. Love ya dad!

My husband is a huge baseball fan. I found a newborn pinstriped onesie that said "Daddy's Lil' Rookie." I folded it as tiny as possible & wrapped it. When he opened he just stared, speechless. But within an hour he had called everyone we know w/the news!

We took my parents to dinner and while we were waiting for our drinks I gave my mom an "want ad" looking for a "grandmotherly" babysitter starting in 9 months.
Get a onesie, bib, or cute baby item that says "best daddy, #1 grandma, etc. Package them up and give them as gifts. You can add them in with chocolates for valentines day, easter basket, or if no holiday is around, just tell them it is a thank you gift
For our last child, I arrived at our local sports hang out and gave him a box of cigars...to hand out to his friends...He had no idea what that meant until the bartender made the announcement, and he finally GOT IT!! What a night that was!

For my second child I picked up a shirt in the gift shop of the hostpital that said "I'm the big sister." I put it on our daughter and took a picture of it and emailed it to all of our friends and relitives. It was so much fun listening to all they said.

My sister and brother in law invited good friends over and after dinner and coffee they played Charades. Amy's clue was "I've got a bun in the oven". It took her guests a moment to register, but then there was much screaming and hugs.
I found adorable little frames that had a stork and instead of inserting a picture, I inserted a piece if paper that said "Picture due May 7, 2005" and mailed one to family members - they loved it!
When I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd child I took a picture of the positive pregnancy test and sent it to my husband in an email message that said May is going to be a great month!!! He was very excited and emailed me right back!!

Since I found out I was pregnant a few weeks before Christmas, my husband & I wrapped a jar of baby food in 1 gift box & a diaper in another. We had the Grandmas open up the gifts together at the end of opening all the gifts. It was an amazing reaction.

One night for dinner I served my husband and 8yr old daughter a dinner of Baby Back Ribs, Baby Carrots, Baby Green Pees and Baby Corn. They didn't get it until I told them what everything was.

I was expecting my third around Fall/Halloween timeframe, so I sent my husband a suprise plant to work and they had put a little pumpkin for decoration in it, and the card read We love you, love your girls and your newest little pumpkin!
