Lana T commented on November 19, 2009 - That's what we always did. Have a place for everything that needs to go out the door -- or go ahead and put what you can in the car the night before. Have the kids help and they'll buy into the system.

Julieta J commented on November 19, 2009 - We do the same thing and it really helps-especially the things that can go in the car the night before. It really makes a difference when my 3yo wants to be carried to the car!

JRSQT commented on November 19, 2009 - Getting EVERYTHING ready the night before is key. I give myself a10 min window of when we have to go. If I want to leave by 8:15, I try to have everything done by 8:05, that way, last minute items are not as rushed.

My husband and I wake up early to have coffee together before the kids get up. We get "our time" and it puts me in a better mood for the hustle and bustle of getting out the door.

I get everyone's clothes ready the night before. Yes, even mine. I'm the worst offender on that front. :)

I never thought I'd say this, but: automatic timed coffee machine. Knowing that coffee is waiting for me in the kitchen gets me out of bed and makes my whole morning better

I want my kids to go face the world with their best foot forward. They should feel a champion. Morning is not the time to rag about grades or messes. Positive positve in a pushy get on the road way. Makes leaving feel like achieving.

I get myself ready before the kids are up. Then I only focus on them, breakfast and getting out the door. Dinner was preped the night before, bags, luches, jackets, shoes and purse w/keys are by the door.

I instituted a morning curfew. All of my children would wake up and come down stairs as soon as they heard either myself or my husband moving - which made for rough mornings. Now, the kids stay in their room until a stated time.

Tracey K commented on November 19, 2009 - I want to add that my husband thought this would never work b/c he is an early riser like the boys He admits that it has worked very well and EVERYONE is happier in the morning. The three year old even "gets" it. They are all up and going w/in 10 of MC
