Yeah! I adopted domestically and the agency told us he is Hispanic & Caucasian, HOWEVER, when his hair grew into a full Afro, we think that maybe there is more to the story...BUT we can't love him any more and he does bring something new to our culture...

Diana G commented on March 31, 2010 - It is entirely normal for a baby of hispanic decent to have afro textured hair. A hispanic background can be a blend of mny different races(white, african, asian etc) and still be considered hispanic.

Abm . commented on June 16, 2010 - My kids are, Irish, Scotish, German, Norwegian, dutch, and English and a little bit of indian(and probably more that I am unaware of). Aren't we all mixed race? I think people make a bigger deal out of race than need be.

Sunflower commented on July 21, 2010 - It doesn't matter what race a child is, you love that child unconditionally! God does not see 'color'. If your adopted son grew an afro, so what! In case you didn't know, there are Hispanics with afros. My children are black/hispanic, they are my world!

My daughter is half caucasian half asian.

My daughters are half African American and Half Hispanic. I try to give them a good balance of where they come from so they can be proud of each of their cultures and become very well blended young women.

My daughter is half Korean (me) and half Caucasian (hubby). The only thing I've noticed at this age is everyone knows I'm her Mommy when I pick her up at preschool (she's the only Asian-ish looking kid) :-)

My kids are half polish, half filipino. But since my oldest isn't even 2, we haven't had any "race" issues or discussions. I don't think she's even noticed that she's a different color than her other cousins. What do you want to know?

Interesting topic... My daughters are half caucasion and half Korean. Living in the Bay Area there is not much of an issue one way or another. However, it is very challenging with my husbands parents. They have a lot of communication problems.

My children are half Armenian (me) and half Tongan (husband). My son looks like his father and my daughter looks exotic, but hard to tell what. My son doesn't want me at school because "we don't look alike." Surprised me!

I am filipino, german and french. My son's father is african american. Growing up, I never had any problems except for people saying I don't look like my mother. I haven't experienced anything with my son. People do say that he has very pretty skin tone.

My son is multiracial, African American, Caucasion and Vietnamese. He is 4 and always has questions about his hair, eyes and skin color because they are different than both his parents. I tell him I love him no matter what, and those things don't matter.

A few years ago I read an interview with an enchanting and successful woman who, when asked about being "mixed race" , responded with a phrase I have used ever since in my early childhood teaching. She said that she loved her "blended heritage."

My children are half English, and half Mexican. But they look very white, they are not very dark like me .(mexican) I don't want my kids to have the problems I had when it wasn't common to be mixed race.

My son is half Caucasian and half Mexican. The only thing I have heard so far is that he is a beautiful mix of the two of us. We'll see how that changes in a few weeks when we move back to Minnesota and he starts school!

When Tiger Woods was asked about his race he said he was a member of the human race. Bad behavior aside, I thought that was a nice way to look at it. I'm white, my hubby black and we have 2 model-gorgeous toddlers. We're so blessed and grateful.

I'm mixed race, but the focus over mixed race versus not mixed is silly. Just as the fact that you are not "ethnic" if you are just white. Also, I'm personally sick of the "you are so beautiful" attention surrounding mixed race people. Too much emphasis.

My son is 1/2 white and 1/2 East Indian from his dad. My genes must be very strong, because you can't even tell he is biracial, even though his dad is very dark. My son has been to India 3 times, planning a 4th, so he knows that side of his heritage well.

I am multiracial and married an Ethiopian. My kids also are very "exotic" looking and have never really fit into the African American culture. we have raised them to appreciate all people. I am very eager to tell people if they ask about their heritage

Recently my dd and I participated in a Market Research Study. The phone intake assumed my dd and I were the same race. Lol, the person actually didn't know what to do when I asked her if she needed my daughters race. But I want my dd to be proud of both

I am white and my husband is black, so our children are a BEAUTIFUL shade of brown! Of course, this is America and neither or us are all anything so you could say that more than our kis are mixed.

i have a seven race wonder...from Asian to Mexican to Samoan, to Irish quite the mix...i have no troubles being we live in a melting pot so for the most part all is well...only answering her questions is tricky...

My son is half Honduran and a quarter Korean and a quarter Chinese. The hispanic side thinks he looks more like mommy, the asian side says he looks more like papi and strangers have asked me if I'm his mom!

My twins are one quarter puerto rican and the other 3/4 white. They have darker skin and dark brown hair and eyes, taking after their biological dad. I, myself, have blonde hair green eyes, so i'm always getting asked if i'm their mom or babysitting!

Our son is half Chinese, a quarter Italian and the other quarter is a mix of Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and English.

My 4 children are African ( me) and Mexican, Chinese ( my husband) All 4 of them look different... One looks Mexican and black, one looks black and Asian, and 2 look African... My children who are toddlers don't notice the difference...

My kids are half Colombian and half African American. I am Colombian, but since I have a dark complextion, my kids dont appear to be of "mixed" heritage. The only challenge I face is making sure that my kids learn about their hispanic culture and language

imy dauhgter is mexican and afican american, and my ecperiences from bein out with her in public, poeple would stare and it was wierd at first but then after the years went by, i was told that african americans don't like there kind mixed, oh well :)

I too am wondering where this is going. I am white and my husband is mexican. My daughter looks just like me and our son, a good mix of both of us, but he is darker. I feel as if some people still don't find it acceptable.

Yes my son is Puerto Rican and Dominican and White. He is tan all year long and I am so jealous, but he is beautiful and we say that he is a mocha color!

I'm Kor-Mexican (1/2 Korean & 1/2 Mexican) and my husband is Turkish. Our 2-year old daughter, Meryem is the perfect blend of both of us. We hope she grows to celebrate her roots and knows the joy of the cultures she is part of...we've started w/music.

Have you seen how gorgeous is Nahla (mom is Halle Berry and dad is some white guy I don't know)...I think mixes are beautiful and in some cases unique!!! Black people with blue eyes are amazing, for example. Mixed racial traits are wonderful.

I am an adopted Asian to Caucasian parents. My husband is caucasian. Our son definitely ressembles me, especially around the eyes, but our daughter looks more like her father. Her eyes are round, not almond. Hopefully will stay blue. She's 6 wks old.

My 3 year old is african american/white. Her sister is all white as is my husband. . She asked if we painted her. :) Other than that, nothing but a beautiful little girl.

My daughters have only a quarter Mexican in them and they look mostly white. Their dad is half Mexican and half white and I am white as white can be(I have red hair, blue eyes and pale skin). But when they get out in the sun they brown fairly easily.

I'm German & Norwegian. My husbands family is Jewish. Our daughter got my nose & hair coloring, but his thick, long eyelashes, big brown eyes and thick "Jew-fro" (seriously its a curly mane!) She also always looks tanned. She's beautiful! :)

Our girls are 27 and 20, they are African-American and Caucasian. They are wonderful, hard working, successful kids. They made the right choices whether confronted with race issues or not. God blesses us and them everyday they are here.

My son is half caucasian (me) and half hispantic (father). But now my son and I live in a small town by our selfs and its unheard of here but luckily for us he looks as caucasian as me at first glance you can't tell he is mixed until summer time!

My kids are 1/2 white and 1/2 Moroccan. I had a very upsetting experience in a mall in Portland, OR when my son was 2 - woman was staring at us and made a mad face whenever my son hugged his daddy. Strangers have said it's good he looks like me. :(

My birth son is mixed with black, white, mexican and native american. In his early years we encountered some strange experiences. At age 6 he noticed the difference in our color. Now at 13, he and I look the same, just different colors.

My 5 year old is 1/2 caucasian (me) and 1/2 filipino (my husband). He strongly resembles my husband and people have commented that he "looks nothing like" me. One day he came home from daycare asking if he was "Chinese" - comments from one of the kids.

My children are bi-racial (black and white), but in my case, my husband and I are also bi-racial (black and white). I think it will be easier for my children than for me, simply because there are sooo many more mixed race people in their generation.

Our son is African American and Polish-Italian. His skin color was immediately an issue within both our families. Most interesting were reactions from children on the playground who wouldnt play with him per their parents instructions.

The concept of race is very disturbing to me because it is often thought to have some biological or genetic meaning aside from the social one. My son has parents from two different ethnic groups. He has an olive complexion and looks Middle Eastern.

My sons are 1/4 Polish 1/4 Italian 1/2 Puerto rican...aside from being handsome they are in touch with all their cultural background. Whenever we have to answer a form for ethnicity I always check other or check all of their background...

Our kids are Asian-American. To be more specific Cambodian-Chinese-Swedish-English-Irish-German-Russian. Our kids are young enough that their ethnic backgound has been a non-issue. I will teach our kids about all aspects of their heritage.

My boys are half Iranian and half Korean. They each have very different hair, LOL! My middle boy looks more Asian than the other 2. There are so many "halvsies" in their elementary school, especially, half Iranian/half other that they fit right in.
