My mom friends gave me a book of advice that they'd compiled. It really takes a village to raise kids, and it was nice to have their collective wisdom in such a thoughtful form.

My friends got me a gift certificate for a massage. I went when my first baby was 6 weeks old--and my muscles were so sore--because I was not used to carrying and holding that little bundle. The massage felt great and it was a thoughtful gift!
