I was wondering if there are any groups in the area or moms that might be interested in starting one. For now I am a stay at home mom so my schedule is pretty open. No commitment - just occasional company for my kids ... and myself.

Read the entire question and 7 answersmy son just started being mean.like when his father plays with him.every thing is going great then out of the blue he'll start hitting and pincghing his father.same with play dates.im at my witts end .i don't have friends with boys. i've read every book and have gotten no where.my son kadynn is a great well traind and repecialful and polite child.he just started this.i don't know how to help him.i feel like im failling my child.i feel like i have no control.he really cant express his fellings just yet.but the weird part is that when i ask him about it.he has a weired look on his face like he dose'nt know what had just happend.how can i help my little boy??? please help anyone
Read the entire question and 15 answersHi. I'm new to the Crofton area and have two children. My son is 10 and my daughter is 6. My family have "semi" busy life-styles. We moved here last June from PG and my children still have not made any friends. We are one of possibly three African American families on the block. When my son attempted to make friends with the other children, he was not welcomed well--in fact they completely ignored him and didn't even speak to him. Needless to say, my son came back to the house fighting back tears and asking questions that I never thought he would have to ask in this new millenium. This was my son's first experience with someone of another race--unfortunately it was not a good one. I am looking for playdates for my children with others who have open minds. Not only is it important for my son to meet others in our new community, but I also want to show him that not all people are as ignorant as the ones he met. Some of my attempts included, placing them in neighborhood sports. They do not attend our community school, but the school where I teach. My children are well mannered kids just looking for a few good friends--regardless of race, culture, or class.

I'd like to meet other older parents with children similar to my daughter's age for play dates and social outings. My husband is a printer and I"m a school librarian. We enjoy eating out, movies, visiting railroads, model railroading, the zoo, nature walks, etc. We don't smoke or drink. Husband is mildly Christian :); I am I guess a "God in the outdoors" type of person. Don't want to be "converted" or "saved". Nothing against Christians, it just doesn't work for us. If you like backyard bbq's, nature hikes, beach trips, and playground time, we'd love to meet you!

I work full time and would like to join some sort of first time mom playgroup/club/group but everything i see is during the week during the day. Um hello, but there is such a thing as working moms!! It drives me nuts. Does anyone know of anything in the East Plano area?

Read the entire question and 6 answersHi All, I have recently joined a playgroup that said they would meet on weekends and but so far they have all been on weekdays and I still get invited to all the fun places but since it is during the week I can never go. I run a very small daycare during the day and my hubby takes our only car to work so Saturdays would be perfect for me. I have a 3.5yr old son that is ALL boy and needs friends his age and be able to express all his pent up energy. I also have a 5mo. old son but he doesnt need lots of friends quite yet...lol Since we moved out here a year ago I have not really met anyone that I can bond with and I really need some girl friends that understand what its like being busy with kids but also would like to take a break once in a while and go shopping and get coffee. I am a SAHM and we get very bored at times. Our area is an older established area and no families our age so we don't get to mingle with the neighbors and no one has kids the age of ours. I also have an 8 yr old who likes to make new friends. Right now he only has two friends that live near by and one of them I would rather him not play with. A friend of ours was visiting with her 7 1/2 mo old last weekend from SF & they were the same size. My guy just loved having another baby around. I want to give my son a regular friend! Someone really close would be ideal. I am in Burbank down the street from the airport at Niagara and Empire. Anyone close?

My son is 4 and will only attend Pre-school for approximately 4 hours per week in the Fall. Some of the things I would like to do include organizing a few field trips, sign them up for craft classes at Michaels and attend storytime either at the Keller library, Brystone in Watauga, or Barnes and Noble in Southlake or Hurst. We could meet in each other's homes as well as at any of the local parks. Please respond if you think you may be interested. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

We have done storytime at the Clinton-Macomb Library and are currently enrolled in a Parent-Toddler class (that will be ending this week) through St. Clair Shores Adult Ed. Not only would I like my son to be exposed to other toddlers, I'd also like the opportunity to chat with other toddler moms. I actually teach a Parent-Toddler class in Troy but my son is not quite old enough to be enrolled in it (he would have had to turn 2 by Dec. 1st). Any input would be greatly appreciated!
