Mom's beware!!! If two guys and a woman can be taken advantage of, so could a mom.

TWSystems (Stephen Gary) walked off the unfinished job, did not return phone calls or emails, and left us to find someone else to rip up the insufficient work his company did and have it replaced.

We hired him to install a flagstone patio, pond and waterfall. We showed him our next door neighbor's patio as the example of the type of design we were looking for (modern). Steve didn't spend time at the work site and obviously didn't communicate the design or our vision to his employee, Edwin Romero. Instead of modern, we ended up with a rustic patio with thick, sloppy grout lines with a different color flagstone than discussed, laid obviously crooked in a very square yard. They also built a pond and waterfall that was not equipped with a pump and filter. Additionally, the waterfall was built at an angle so the water would fall off the back of it rather than into the pond. Borders were discussed during the quote, but then became an additional cost when it was time to install. During the incomplete walk-thru, Steve noticed that I was upset with the outcome and said he was going to make it better (color the grout lines, install the border, etc). The other half of funding for the project was due, after the work was complete, during the walk-thru. Since he wasn't finished, we withheld $800 of the $5,667 total. Shame on us for not withholding the entire half that was due during the walk-thru, since the work wasn't done.

We later emailed Steve to notify him that the corrections needed to be made. We eventually received an email stating that he felt we were taking advantage of his generosity, that he didn't see how he could proceed, and that we should feel free to contact another contractor. Several other phone calls were made and emails were sent to him with no response.

You hear of contractor horror stories all the time, but I never would have imagined the lack of professionalism that we experienced. It's also one thing for a customer to be unhappy with the finished product, but completely unacceptable for a contractor to disappear, refuse phone calls, and not return emails.

Using this company would be a gamble of getting what you want. I would definitely not recommend them. I would have much rather paid one of the other contractors, with a higher quote, to avoid paying two contractors for one job to be done twice.

Stephen is the most service oriented contractor I have ever met. We had Twsystems do our windows,siding,patio and kitchen. No contractors can compare to Twsystems. We have recommended them to friends and neighbors and they are still working in the neighborhood a year after doing our home.

We had Twsystems install our patio and walkway back in 2005. Since then they have become a full service remodeling company. We had them install about 9 windows and paint the interior of our home. Once again excellent!
