The inspiration for my art is my intense love of animals and their unique personalities; of nature and its exquisite beauty – trees, gardens, and flowers; and of vintage architecture. As an en plein air painter, the expression of all of these is there for the capture. Each blank canvas presents a new and exhilarating challenge – as the many variables constantly change – the movement of light and changing shadows, volatile weather; hot or cold, wind or rain or mist ….the varying experiences are endless. As I face my canvas, I want to bring the mood and moment alive….. I think that my works, if nothing else, speak of the pleasure of their creation and my appreciation of the subject matter.
