Reading Friends is an academic preschool for children ages 2-Kindergarten. We are located in the Flower Mound/Lewisville/Highland Village area, but families come from Denton, Corinth, Argyle, Lantana, Carrollton, and Irving.
Reading Friends is a mom-owned and operated business....I found Reading Friends as a mom looking for a high-quality program for my boys. I was what one would call "discriminating" (my husband says "picky" is a better word)...anyway, I wanted it all for my boys and couldn't find it in the Flower Mound area, so I decided to open Reading Friends and create what I was looking for in a preschool. As a mom, if I can do anything for my boys, it is provide them with the best possible education available in a loving, safe environment. So, that is what I set out to do for not only my boys, but all children.
Reading Friends offers a multi-sensory approach to learning in a fun and nurturing environment. Our curriculum includes:
-Systematic Phonics, including handwriting, listening and speaking
-Math
-Creative Art and Music
-Spanish
-Gross Motor and Fine Motor Skills
-Science and Discovery
-Social Interaction
-Indoor and Outdoor Freeplay
The staff here is incredible...not only are they certified teachers, but they are wonderful people! It makes a difference. Our curriculum is great, but the staff brings it to life! Our goals are to help children master the academics and, at the same time, discover just how much fun learning can be!
The program has been very well-received by parents. We will be offering Kindergarten for the first time in the Fall of 2008 at our parent's request :-) I am honored that our parents would like to leave their child with us for one more year!

My daughter is in her second year at Reading Friends (Pre-K). After deciding to stay home with our second child, I spent months researching preschools all over the Flower Mound, Lewisville, and Highland Village area. I chose to visit six before making a final decision. Once my husband and I visited Reading Friends and met Marlo and her staff, our decision was easy! We immediately knew that Reading Friends was the perfect preschool for our family. This is definitely an academic program - not daycare or mother's day out. Class is structured but the curriculum is always fun and appealing to the children. In fact, I'd even say that I don't think the curriculum of any other preschool in the area even compares to the multi-sensory curriculum at Reading Friends. Every staff member is an incredible person in their own right. Each has different strengths and approaches to teaching. Together they've formed an amazing team to challenge the children and teach them to love learning. My daughter has blossomed into a child who looks forward to school everyday. I highly recommend Reading Friends.
